6 years of Alfa ownership here, Previously owned a 2018 Stelvio Ti Sport, currently own a 2019 Stelvio Quad. Both were / are exceptional vehicles. If anyone curious what's changed in 2024, the simple answer is not much (which is a good thing IMO). 2020 introduced a new shifter design, touch screen, the wireless charger, and a tweak to the upper control arms and steering rack. The only other things I see changed here from 2018 & 2019 is the digital dash, button changes moving the volume wheel to what was the next / back buttons, and the new headlights, lets not forget that beautiful paint color. That interior looks the same as was in 2018, though the leather dash wasn't available on all trims.

@@GTGarageTalk fyi, watched the video hoping for an explanation of what differentiated the competizione from the other trim levels, which I didn't see any mention of, but it looks like the 2 stage damper settings and the leather dash trim are included, a different wheel design similar to the new Tonale wheel style, but couldn't spot anything else in the video.

Thanks for including me on your drive! Your viewers should know that I directed you down 8 Mile Rd in Detroit during this drive. You masterfully navigated many "obstacles" while also filming and seeking my input. The vehicle came through unscathed, and we were not shot!

Very thorough and honest review of the new Stelvio. Great job! But it seems you didn't emphasized one of the stronger points of what makes an Alfa Romeo, the usual focus on dynamic efficiency and driver pleasure that you experienced yourself and that sets the Stelvio aside from most competitors (besides the looks). For that, the Stelvio is equipped with several lightweight solutions, like the full aluminum engine but also the fully aluminum fine tuned patented suspension. One of the nice details would also be the carbon fiber drive shaft. Other details like you must have noticed when checking the engine bay is the anti-roll bar for better force distribution in corners and the fact that the engine sits below the front axle to achieve a near 50% weight distribution per axle (that's also why the battery is centered under the trunk in the back). Also important to mention is the very high ratio steering, even more direct than the one we find on a 911 and that also features Ackerman geometry for better grip out of corners. This and the fact that is built over the Giorgio platform (specially designed for the launch of the Giulia by an ex Ferrari team of engineers), is what makes the Stelvio drive the way it does. You can throw it into corners better than many other cars non SUVs included. To bad you didn't tried the paddle shifters with the ZF in manual. They're a blast to use, they literally kick you in Dynamic mode.

This Alfa is like wine and like wine you need connoisseurs to appreciate a wine for what it really is, if any person drinks a sip of wine will spit it or say “it’s just wine”.

And by the way the patented suspensions that you righteously mentioned not everyone knows that they have been realized by the same Ferrari engineer who made the Ferrari Enzo suspensions.

I own that exact stelvio model and color. I have had it just over a month and it’s got 3000miles on it right now. The review is very accurate. I leave it in dynamic mode when driving around town but if I’m just cruising in the right lane on the highway I put it in N mode. There are no rattles or squeaks at all and it’s a blast to drive. Yes the transmission is sometimes lazy but once it does wake up it’s fun. I have a 2006 saab 9-3 aero sportcombi 6 spd also and we lined the saab and alfa up. The saab ran away but the alfa held its own best it could lol.

Very good test ! congrats .i owned 3 yrs Stelvio 2019 model sprint rwd , amazing, funny to drive if you enjoy dynamic driving, no worries no problems . Now i own 2024 Veloce Q4 with 21 wheels( same as tested ) . The updates from previous model are welcome.Brakes ( bt Brembo ) feels better. Sports seat are perfect . Previously i Owned X3 3.0 xdrive 2014 and Discovery sport hse 2016. For now and in the segment where this car is on the market i still prefer the Stelvio and enjoy every day choose it .

The metal material on the Stelvio (and Giulia) is aluminum. There's lot's of it in these cars. Most of the body is made of aluminum. The engine of course is full aluminum, but also the patented suspension, the paddle shifters, the central console, etc

13:35 ...And I've learned something new. The mentioned scroll button at the right of the steering wheel is indeed for sound level in previous generations. That was a surprise for me.

I just can't stand the look of this vehicle at all. The wheels look like a bunch of circles. Fix-A-Flat units are basically useless unless you have a tiny nail hole in the tread area. Will not work on the sidewall if it is damaged by the nail. Like the Start/Stop ignition switch on the steering wheel, very handy. Thank you, fellas for a nice review.
