2024 Audi Q8 & SQ8 e-tron: Bonus, what is up with the new name?

This video we take a little deeper dive back in time with some Audi history trivia. The Q8 e-tron takes the place of Audi's first EV, the "e-tron". Audi made some large improvements in the car itself and the way it is tested for range. I go over both the Q8 and SQ8 e-tron about packages and features. As far as EVs go....Audi or not. You will be hard pressed to find another EV as good looking.

Great videos as always. Currently looking to finalize on an SQ8 e-tron. Unfortunately the ride height has me unsure. There was no ICE at the dealer to compare. How much lower do you find the Q8/SQ8 E-tron sit vs the ICE Q8/SQ8? Wondering if the highest setting on the air suspension on the Q8/SQ8 e-tron get it close to the ICE. Coming out of an X5 so hoping for something that is similar.

Hi Emily, my first time seeing one of your videos. Wow, you are a real treasure and I don’t mean of just information. You’re a really cool chick! :D “Liked” the video at 2 mins in, “Subscribed” at 4 mins in. I’m a fan! Just bought my 2019 e-tron two months ago, kept my ‘17 Q7 Prestige bc it’s so nice and bc of the crazy cool options it has. 4-wheel steering, night vision, forgot the name of the leather seat option but it was $4K. Next up, the SQ8 e-tron, you sold me on it!

Interesting question. I am trying to make sure I am understanding. It will show you the charge level when you arrive at your destination, yes.

Ok found .. you have to add a stage .. no so useful as ABRP and the planner sometimes shut off for some unknown reason.. not the most practical

Looking at this model as a possibility. I have a Pulsar 40a wall mount charger. Will the e-tron models work with that? Also, does the battery time go down as the temperature goes down? Is there anything on the horizon that will get more range like 500 miles over three days?

It will depend on the charger type and amperage. Yes, the battery range will be affected by the cold some, that is why it is extremely important to precondition your e-tron. There are a variety of e-tron models that will be here in the distant future that will have further range.

The brown color looks a lot darker than it did in the Audi video. Is that due to lighting or the camera or does it also look darker in person aswell?

It is extremely dark in person. We have very high quality CRI lights. The colors in our garage look more vibrant than they do under the sun.

Hello! Audi will have the A6 sedan first. The the "plan" as I have been told is that the A4 will come later. Likely 2026 or later. But this can always change.

@@shawnivy thanks! I have not heard anything about moving wireless chargers in the future. I do know that some models are due for a redesign of the interior in the next 2-4 years.

Thanks for watching! These cars' target market is the Q8 ICE or A8 customer. This pricing is in line with those. We have the Q4 and soon to be released Q6 that is for the mass market

Great Vid.. but the electric car market is being scaled back completely by VW and Audi is next. Not time for electric cars yet. Here in the U.S. GM and Ford are stopping production of a of electric models.. I still love my 23' A4 and A6 gasoline versions.

Thanks! Audi is not doing away with any of the gas models. They are just consolidating and cleaning up the naming. I am curious how much of the forecast that I was shown last year will change in the future

Good video as always. It’s really a shame that Audi is wasting all the time, energy and money into a technology that will not be viable long term. It would make more sense if they had a limited amount of EV’s and continued with their regular fossil fuel lineup as that is still the future whether anyone likes or agrees. The achilles heel of EV’s is starting to manifest itself more each day and sales will continue to fall as the drawbacks and real impact on our environment is revealed.

Thank you! I am glad we at least have the option. And if you are really searching for an EV regardless of the news and such, it is a great car. But Audi is NOT doing away with their gas engines. This is just another option available. Much like how we used to get the choice between gas and diesel...oh I do wish we still got the diesels.

Porsche Taycan updated model has them charging at 330+ kw with over 450 miles of range now. EV charging stations are becoming increasingly more common and way, way faster than before. Where I live at least, it seems that EV’s are the only logical option. All of this tech hits the less expensive brands within a couple years. Kia/Hyundai was neck and neck with Porsche for charging speed up until their new Taycan that is being tested currently.

​@@emilytheaudinerd Der frühere Audi Chef Rupert Stadler war immer für Technologieoffenheit und würde wenn er noch Chef wäre ganz bestimmt die Verbrenner nicht auslaufen lassen. Mir ist mein Diesel auch viel lieber als ein Elektroauto. Mit mein 73 Liter Tank habe ich 1150 Km Reichweite geschafft. Daß ist für mich das beste Argument nicht umzusteigen auch wenn der sq8 etron gut aussieht. Der übrigens dir gut steht. Ach noch eins das Elektrofahrrad lass lieber, für echten Spaß auf 2 räder nehme lieber eine Dukati oder eine BMW r12 ninet, KTM, Honda CBR 1000rr-r fireblade. Kawasaki HR2 210ps und 400 km/h schnell vor der habe so ich Angst sie zu fahren, das ist der ritt auf der Kanonenkugel 😢

They are pretty fantastic compared to its competition. But the good news is that the gas powered Q8s are not going anywhere!
