Having been to Germany a couple times now it makes sense to me why the Germans buy rubbish German cars. They buy manual, which is reliable as rocks, and the servicing is cheap. Over there the reliable Japanese cars are very expensive to buy, but you still see lots of Mitsubishis. It’s like the reason Aussies buy falcons. Cheap to run in that market. Also the roads are smooth and don’t kill the chassis. But doesn’t make sense in Australia at all.

We know Audis are unreliable. The RS6 has the same engine as the Urus, does that mean the Urus is also unreliable?

I wonder where this myth came from. The early DSG bugs from two decades ago? I owned an Audi, and it was rock solid, but this was a "normal" one. I suppose the hypercar versions are always somewhat brittle.

@@klausschroiff4405Consider why Audi’s warranty is only 2 years. Consider how “generally” German cars hold up in Western climates over time. Consider how many old Toyotas you see on the road, vs how many old Audi’s on the road (at least 20+ years old).

@@kareembaba7498 Why are Audis and VW at the top of the reliability surveys in Europe-and better than Toyotas? For example, the RAV4 has a low-reliability score in Germany regarding breakdowns by the ADAC (the German equivalent of the NRMA). The problem isn't reliability, really. The "perceived" lower reliability is higher parts prices here in Oz.
