JK: Didnt you learn ANYTHING from your Fierceness Derby pick? Horses that basically go wire to wire at Gulfstream accomplished NOTHING,and rarely repeat that performance anywhere else. National treasure is anything but a treasure. Maggie learn the game: the Rail was 100pct dead in the Saudi Cup. Abarrio was on dead rail whole way..

It's all fine and good. These people make their picks. But I took Siized the Gray in the preakness. Which they didn't pick and I won. You don't always need to listen to their favorites. Do your own judgments stick with your gut.

Handicappers need to go back and watch the preakness and pat day mile: ive been following every 3yo crop since '77, and ive never seen a horse faster out of the gate for THE 1ST FIVE JUMPS than seize the grey. He outbroke the gate in Pat Day,and did the same in Preakness. His freakish gate ability basically renders mindframe no chance...

JK's Mindframe argument is a good one but yes, sounds very similar to Fierceness argument. And could also turn argument on it's head and say if he goes off at 3-1 that's a LOT of $ being bet on a 1st time stakes horse and adding good value elsewhere.

PTF, I am surprised you are repeating JK's taking point regarding Seize the Grey. The colt was not loose on the lead, but rather the fastest entrant in the field. If you had done a proper analysis of the Preakness, you would have realized same. Seize the Grey was only 2L off the leaders in the Pat Day Mile in which 22+; 44+; 1:09+ fractions were recorded. Those fractions were 10L faster than those recorded in the KD contested on the same day. It was grossly unlikely that the Preakness fractions would be anywhere close to those recorded in the PDM. As a result, Seize the Grey would be the obvious leader. It is unlikely such a conclusion would be above your pay grade. The Preakness entrant most likely to lead the race, did just that. It is therefore incorrect to classify CTG as being lose on the lead when no other entrant was fast enough to get close. JK, Horses do not run Beyers. You sound silly repeating this statement. It doesn't matter how often you say, it doesn't make it correct. Going forwards, kindly spare yourself the embarrassment and specify that a particular horse was assigned a particular Beyer. As usual you cannot avoid nonsense. Justify, Flightline and Mineframe won on debut. American Pharaoh finished 5th by 9 1/4L on debut and was never assigned a100 Beyer for that effort. American Pharaoh broke his maiden is the G1 Stakes. He was entitled to be assigned a high Beyer as a maiden defeating winner. I fail to see why AP was mentioned as Justify, Flightline and Mineframe 2nd start was in an AOC, whereas AP's 2nd start was in a G1 stakes. Smashing 7F Debut at Gulfstream Park: Speak Easy - 22.64: 44.61; 1:09.03; 1:21.96 Mindframe - 21.92.; 44.44; 1:09.22; 1:21.72 If Mindframe's ceiling suggest greatness. Speak Easy cannot be far behind. I do not believe you are aware that Todd Pletcher's horses are enhanced. You were hooked on Fierceness like a child hooked on phoenix. You were even inferring he was a potential TC winner. Well, he crashed and burned. You have attacked your wagon to another jacked up colt from TP's barn and is again destine for embarrassment. You expect a colt with the following resume to win the Belmont. Debut - MSW- GP; 7F (118lbs; Lasix) 1st by 13 1/2L (Best Opponent - One Sharp Cookie) Start #2 - AOC- CD; 8 1/2F (118lbs; Lasix) 1st by 7 1/2L (Best Opponent - Cornishman) Start #3 - Belmont - SAG; 10F (126lbs; No Lasix) New Challange - Distance - 1 1/2F longer Medication - No Lasix Opponent - Graded stakes winers except one. Weight- increase of 8lbs Summary - There hasn't been a Belmont winner from TP's barn that never contested a graded stake. Victory for Midframe grossly unlikely. Profile aligned with a likely also ran. If you are going to go crazy in the Belmont. Consider the colt below since you have a love affair with TP's horses. Sire - Finished 2nd in the Belmont Dam sire - Won the Belmont Dam - Won 4 graded stakes; 2nd BCJ Fillies; 3rd in KY Oaks The above pedigree is the best in the field. There are two entrant whose dam won a graded stake. One is the ML favorite, and the other is the longest shot in the field. There is nothing wrong with assuming that cream it likely to rise to the top in Belmont. The exacta could be lucrative. A well-bred horse can unexpectedly rise to the occasion Sierra Leon remains the entrant to beat.

That's a great question I hadn't thought of. I don't think Mindframe or Resileince would run at 12F so this year it might be a better race at 10F. Longterm tho I want it to be 12 for sure!
