This is a great review for me because after 80 hrs/ 1,700 miles of trail riding in the UK / France on my '22 Xtrainer I've been doing lots of research on 'do I need to replace it and if so with what' on the Beta range and I think you've just summed it the position I'm in too, which is stick with the Xtrainer. Late last year I got the front resprung for my 80Kg base weight + K-Tech ORVS valving front/rear. This along with the gnarly pipe is, if I'm honest, 90% of all I'll ever need as an average Joe weekend rider. Faster pace in the open and any landing more than a foot or 2 is it's weak point, but fixing that probably compromises the flexibility it offers elsewhere. Really appreciate you doing all the testing for me and saving me a lot of money .. 😂 Keep up posting please and I reckon it's worth getting the XT dialed in ... as much as I really enjoyed it out of the box for modest investment it can be even better 👍

Awesome, I’m glad it helped! As you said there are trade offs everywhere but the XTrainer just suits my riding style and terrain closer than any other bike I’ve been on to date. I’ll definitely be messing with the suspension soon and actually setting the sag! Lol

200s are awesome, best bike ive owned. Light and flickable with enough low end and easy revving. I'd go for the 350 if I ever go 4 stroke again. Great video and I like your review and riding

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback! Never know if my commentary is boring. Glad to hear people are enjoying it lol. That 200 would be a very close 2nd choice for me after thinking back on it.

Great video ,really got a feel for the differences. Trying to decide between a x trainer and the 359rr 4 stroke , iam short but heavy and always favoured 4 strokes but the x trainer seemed so much more manageable

Thanks, I’m glad it helped out! For my riding style and trails, I just can’t beat the XT. This bike is as tractable as any torquey 4 stroke I’ve ever ridden believe it or not. They have it geared and tuned just right

I'm drawn to Beta and can't explaing why. I guess because they are different than the standard KTM, Yamaha, Honda stuff. I hope to be able to get to a demo sometime and ride a 300rr and 300 xtrainer. Maybe even a 350 or 390 4T. Thanks for the video

Thanks for watching! You can’t go wrong with a beta. Their customer support is amazing and I still love my XTrainer. Definitely try to to a demo ride. There are nuances to each bike that you’ll love or hate. The cool thing is they make so many that you will find the one that suits you best. I wish the Japanese manufacturers would go back to making more models like back in the 70s and 80s.

@@Garage2Trail I agree. They need to bring back the XR like lineup. Honda anyway.

You can order it that way from the factory. 2 week custom build. They will change springs for your rider weight also. Your dealer will walk you through it.

Thought on the 390 vs 430? I was thinking about the 500 but thought it would wear me out in the woods but better on the roads to/from! I rode on Demo Day the 390RS/430RR & 350RR, the 430 with KYB was too stiff for me & I was already worn out from riding the 390. When I rode the 350 I missed the power of the 390 & 430.
@Garage2TrailАй бұрын
I really liked the 390 because it had the softer plusher suspension. It suits me better. More comfortable which means I got worn out less. Race pace might be a different story though.
@ratherberiding59645 ай бұрын
My problem is that I want all of them for every different occasion. I'm going to get a 300 race edition next. I think ( and hope ) I can enjoy it in the tight technical single track but still ride it fast-ish in the harescrambles and hit the big hill climbs. I want a 350 too though lol
@Garage2Trail5 ай бұрын
Lol I hear you…I wish I could have the 200 race, Xtrainer, 300rr and a 350rr for good measure! Faster trails I’m sure that 300 will be perfect. The Xtrainer can climb though too….I’ve hit some pretty nasty hills on that thing and it eats them up.

Great video. Did you figure out the suspension difference in the Xtrainer? Mines factory setting and wishing it felt a little more planted too. Just finishing up the break in and coming off a 450 dual sport, figured I just needed to get use to it. Get out in the woods, we need more Xtrainer content. Lol Keep up the great videos.

Not yet, haven’t had much time to monkey with it yet but will be soon. I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t even set my sag on the Xtrainer. It just felt good to me so I left it alone. That may have something to do with it. The only thing I ever changed was slowing down the rebound on the forks to keep it from deflecting as bad. It was working for me so I figured leave it alone…now I know there is more potential in it. And thanks for watching! I should have some more Xtrainer stuff soon!

Deffantely go to a beta demo day before you buy. To each thier own. Every one was telling me to buy a xtrainer and then I rode one and for me it was awkward but that might be the bike for you. I ride hard enduro and like the soft suspension the base models have to offer. 300rr base model is my choice. I am glad I got the 2024 base model before the race edition changes 2 plugs just seems silly and now the whole new line thier going with in 2025 might be a deal breaker. Hope to get into a beta demo day in 2025 to try out the new bikes. Seems like me and beta may be parting ways when I am ready for a freshy in a few years.

How do you like the 300rr in hard Enduro conditions? How's carb compared to fuel injected for hard conditions
@stevemccurley17075 ай бұрын
I sold my YZ250 2stroke And having to buy a rego bike with snap,I'm guessing the 300rr is the one ? Also have you tried the Austrian bikes ?
@Garage2Trail5 ай бұрын
Yeah the 300 is pretty awesome and has plenty of that snap you are looking for. It can be adjusted too with the power valve bolt for when you want that hot to come in. I haven’t had any long enough rides on the Austrian bikes to be able to give an honest opinion.
@Garrettactical5 ай бұрын
Excellent. Really like the opinion and comments on the bikes at the end. Still didn’t help me decide though 😢 I ride a combo of faster flowing single track AND tighter, slower technical stuff. So what’s the best ALL AROUND bike? 300RR? Really appreciate your effort with the channel!
@Garage2Trail5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! How tall are you? I’m 5’8” and roughly 180-185. I can still touch on the 300RR but I know if I got into super tight off camber stuff, I’d be fighting it. If you are tall enough, I think you’d be fine with the 300RR. Still got plenty of low end and is a rocket up top.
@Garrettactical5 ай бұрын
@@Garage2Trail 6’0” 200 Lbs without gear. Not too crazy about the rocket up top as that’s what I’m trying to avoid by considering a 200RR or XTrainer.
@Garage2Trail5 ай бұрын
@@Garrettactical ok well the Xtrainer might be sprung too softly for you at speed but a couple of my buds were there that day roughly your size really liked the Xtrainer for how easy it is to ride. Super forgiving. Not sure how hard they were pushing it though. The 200 LOVES to rev and I felt needed to be in the mid-upper rpms to be in the meat of the power. Feels just as light and flickable as the Xtrainer but with better suspension for higher speed stuff minus the bottom end grunt of the Xtrainer. For what you describe, if you got the Xteainer and revalved the suspension, that might be what you’re looking for. Have you checked the beta website to see if they are doing any demo rides near you?
@Garrettactical5 ай бұрын
@@Garage2Trail I have checked the demo list yes. All the events currently posted are 8+ hours drive from me. Your experience with the 200 probably solves that decision for Me. I’m not one to ride in the upper rpm’s ranges. I like to keep the revs down and use low to mid power and that’s about it. Pretty much like you riding your Xtrainer. Although my trails are not all tight and slow. About 50/50 I’d say. Really appreciate your input on this.
@Garage2Trail5 ай бұрын
@Garrettactical ok I think you’ll like the XTrainer. I can’t say mine are all 1st and 2nd gear trails…we do have flowing and fairly fast stuff here and there and it’s great there…the only place it lacks is 5th and 6th gear blasts on wide open stuff…specifically whooped out wide open stuff. That’s the only place I can get uncomfortable on that bike. The other benefit to the XTrainer is you can easily tune it to get 300RR top endpower if you desire down the road with a carb rejet, airbox snorkel change and an FMF fatty but mine is still bone stock keeping the meat of the power right off idle and through the mid range. It’s still got plenty of power for the big hill climbs too.
