The answer is no. The new 5 Series feels disconnected from its heritage, resembling more of an attempt to emulate the Mercedes E-Class rather than staying true to its iconic identity. While it might appeal to newer BMW buyers unfamiliar with previous generations, long time fans who has experience previous genz will surely notice significant departures. The absence of the traditional ESP Turn Off button undermines its sporty essence, and the overly soft suspension, coupled with noticeable body roll on corners and expansion joints, detracts from the precise driving dynamics expected of a 5 Series. Adding to the disappointment is the artificial engine noise piped through the speakers, a feature more akin to EVs. These elements collectively dilute what the 5 Series has historically represented. The 5 Series now leans more toward being a chauffeur driven luxury car rather than the driver focused machine it once was. Given its price bracket, there are better options available for luxury focused buyers. The primary reason to choose a 5 Series used to be its engaging driving experience but sadly, that’s no longer the case.

Never thought I would be saying for a BMW. The designers have gone mad to the extent that they have made the car look undesirable. That oversized borderline ugly grill ( now lightens up at night - yuk), the golden surrounds, super ugly wheels. Why on earth a true blue BMW fan would buy it? Go the Mercedes way if u want back seat comfort- else buy the 330Li or the killer M340i. Those 2 cars still don’t look this ugly. Thank God I got the F30 - apart from the suspension I like every bit my car.
