Peel back the snazzy color, M sport packages and options, this i4 is unique as you can’t even get a 40 xDrive in Germany. Highs:
+The i4 is simply gorgeous, and a fancy paint option makes it even better.
+I was impressed with the efficiency, coasting capability and fast charging speeds, especially for a non-dedicated EV platform.
+The interior is top tier well built, drive 8.5 is responsive and next level with technology baked in.
+It feels special, well built, intensely engineered, a true BMW experience.
Lows:
-Not necessarily a low but if you are expecting a performance car, this is not it. The xDrive40 drives like a well tuned and balanced Grand Tourer: good power, dynamic yet compliant suspension, quick yet light steering. The i4 M50 is the wild one for sure.

Dish out many exuberant options and a mid $60k price is not bad at all for this i4. I would consider one personally.

1:36 Those aren't the HP figures for the X40-- those are the numbers for the M50 (308 + 255 = 563 horsepower). 5:26 BMW does _not_ put run-flats on their EV models. Run-flats would kill the range and contribute to road noise. There is a repair kit in the trunk to pump a sealant into a damaged tire so you can limp to the nearest tire shop.
