Many thought the end had come for chevy's entry-level crossover SUV, the Trax, after the Chevrolet Trailblazer arrived for the 2021. But in a rather shocking and unconventional move, the automaker decided to continue the 2024 Chevrolet Trax for a second generation, and its completely overhauled with a larger footprint and improved tech over the previous model.
As for Buick, the 2024 Buick Envista is mechanically related to the redesigned 2024 Chevrolet Trax, but you wouldn't guess it by its sloping fastback roofline. showing off Buick's take on sporty-looking crossovers like the Audi Q3 Sportback or Genesis GV60.
And to help choose between both, in this video we will compare both cars designs inside and out, pricing and how they drive, so, without any further ado, lets get into it.

After owning the Envista over 2 months and close to 3,000 miles half city, highway. The vehicle cruises very comfortably at 70 mph. This small vehicle wants to pass in the city. The turbo charge is almost imperceptible, but it's there when needed. Average 34 both city and highway. The back window doesn't really need a windshield wiper. It's slope like a sedan car. It's not a cagey shape vehicle.

I like the ACTIV trim with a few options on the Trax. I like all the Envista trims. They are packed with features for such a ridiculously good price. I suspect the tiny engine and not so premium interior materials are a few reasons why they managed to keep costs down. I have no qualms with it. I am getting tired of researching. I narrowed it down to these simply because of price. Leaning towards the Envista. Test driving one on Monday.

@@nodun451 Better than I expected. Quiet drive, fairly smooth. While on the Interstate I was doing about 40 and started to increase speed and when I was nearing my exit I looked and found that I was going over 70 (speed limit was 60). It really didn't feel like it to me. Once you get it going the acceleration sneaks up on you. Now with a 0-60 attempt though it's obvious that it's not a fast car. Anyone who's read the specs knows this to be a fact. This is really perfect for anybody who's interested in nice features but doesn't have the budget to get cars starting at lower to mid-thirties with a 1.6 or 2.0 engine. I'm interested in the Sport Touring and have 2 builds priced at $27,480 and $28, 475. If I'm lucky I can keep my payments under $500. I just got to get past the finance people because they love to throw extras at you that you don't need or want. 😆

@@wolfshanze5980 The difference is that most of the cars around were about the same - 50, 80, 120hp... Nowadays you're expected to have a lot more acceleration than in the 90's because with all these 200+hp turbo engines around tailgating each other at 70-80mph is normal in 2023, so you often need to get to 70+mph even on short ramps just to be able to safely merge.

I read that the brake lights on the Envista are “lower” in the rear bumper area, whereas the Trax brake lights are higher up. I am not sure having the brake lights that low for Buick is a good idea, especially in traffic where cars follow closely. Any thoughts from others??
@wolfshanze5980
@wolfshanze5980 6 ай бұрын
Thoughts? Sure. To get a driver's license in any of the 50 states, you not only have to take a road driving test, there's a written one too, making sure you understand all driving laws. One of the questions on said test is about following cars... there's both a two second rule and the even simpler... "If you can't see the bumper of the car in front of you, you're tailgating and too close". Seriously, please realize just how close you have to be to where you can't see the bumper of the car in front of you... at 5mph, that's too scary close, much less at 50mph. If you can't see the bumper of the car in front of you, you're a terrible driver and should have your license revoked.

@@wolfshanze5980 well I didn’t mean to be a jerk about this but clearly you missed my point. I AM worried about the jack ass drivers that love to tailgate at dangerous distance behind. I will say it again, imho having brake lights so low just increases the risk for tailgating accidents. Perhaps you need to take an updated driver test to understand that instead of criticizing people with well intentions.
@wolfshanze5980
@wolfshanze5980 6 ай бұрын
@@user-wm5ix5de5j I thinkyou missed MY POINT... do you realize just how close the car behind you has to be to not see your rear bumper? I'm pretty sure you don't realize just how close that is... it's a few feet... not yards. That's not tailgating, that's closer to being towed distance. If you routinely have people ride you that close, you need to move. You're reaching here with the whole "lights on bumbers are dangerous" thing... it's not... most of the world has bumper lights, and i'm not joking when I say towing distance is about how close you have to be to not see someone's bumper... the entire "i wont buy it because bumper lights aren't safe" is a false argument... regulations for safe taillights are agreed upon by countries around the world, and they all know bumper lights are visible unless at towing distance. It's not the problem you claim it to be... you're just not used to it, so the old "i'll call it dangerous" excuse comes up... it's not dangerous... someone driving at towing distance is dangerous, whether you lights are on the bumper or on the roof, someone at towing distance is the problem, not your car's lights.

I love how they want you to believe a small 3 cylinder motor Is a good thing ! Think of this. Having multiple cylinders in a motor are a good thing. 2 cylinders are better than a one cylinder motor. 4 cylinders are even better . A V8 is great. A V10 is marvelous. A V12 has 12 cylinders and it is a very strong, smooth, powerful motor. Why would I ever want a small 3 cylinder motor in my car? I wouldn't and neither should you. Buick's excuse (and Chevy's) for not having AWD is the same for both and very simple. Price. It's a cheap, entry-level car... the cheapest for both Chevy and Buick. Cheap is cheap... you don't get all the bells and whistles in a cheap car. AWD is expensive, you put AWD in either, the price goes up. It's hilarious... people complain that car prices are too high and nobody can afford a car... so Chevy and Buick put out cheap cars that cost less than most of the competition, then the same people complain "well how come it doesn't come with everything I want?" I swear, you can't win. Folks, you get what you pay for... you want everything in a car, you gotta buy a better (more expensive) car.
