All of the Buick Envistas at the 3 Buick dealerships within a 50 mile radius around me are currently marked up with either a mandatory dealership packaged included or a market adjustment price added to it. With the Chevy Trax at various trim levels I've found some for around MSRP or a few hundreds off at multiple Chevy dealerships with better financing rates too if I don't want to pay with cash. If the Buick Envista was only a few thousands more than the Chevy Trax like the MSRP suggested IRL then I would definitely go with the Buick Envista, but the Chevy Trax is just a better deal at the dealerships around me. Now I just have to wait for my insurance check from State Farm to come in before I actually go get one.

'24 Trax LT 22.4k w/ included safety, convenience and weather pkgs during special promotions. In NC. The ride, steering and banking are very smooth--the tad longer/wider wheelbase really enhances stability. The turbo engages very seamlessly as you accelerate, kinda fun. Very quiet too. We love it.

Trax is the clear winner folks. 21.4K USD MSRP with a 6 speed auto no CVT and for those GM haters the 1.2L 3 cylinder Turbo has been in the Chevy Trailblazer since 2020 and no major issues.......

@@scotpage5526 Buy the Trax, its smooth 6 speed auto peppy enough for city driving and easily pass motorist on the highway. Gas consumption is good, but if your a heavy foot driver your gas consumption will decrease. Cargo space is good for its size and 1.2 L 3cylinder turbo has been in the Chevy Trailblazer since 2020 and (no major issues).........

I just bought the Envista ST. It has all the options, except the sunroof, watts-link suspension. and rear parking sensor. I wanted to mention that the 2025 models ae rumored to make some of these options, especially the rear parking sensor, standard.

They are. Almost every dealership I contacted had one that just got purchased or waiting on some more to arrive. I lucked out and found a dealership that had a few Trax and in the color I really wanted

I'm in NH and have over 10400 miles on my Trax 1rs. The only thing I notice that has been popping up, is when down shifting into first gear, cut tends to bang a bit. Also, there's a very faint vibration in the front when going from 55-70 mph. None under 55 and none over 70. Dealers can't find an issue. I actually prefer the FWD over AWD. Even in New Hampshire, if you're careful, you can drive easily with FWD. Besides, one thing dealers do not tell you is that if you damage just one tire beyond repair, you must replace all 4 tires at a huge expense. If you don't, and you keep your car for a while, your AWD gearbox will eventually fail. That happened to me with my previous car. I only replace the one tire because I was leasing it.

Excellent comparison. I test drove both the Trax and Envista. For me what it came down to was the interior. The Trax felt a bit more lively and invigorating. And Trax had more colors that were a better fit for me as a male. Loved the exterior styling of the Envista but the Chevy dealerships were more willing to negotiate on my trade in. So I went with the Trax and it's been amazing. The drive, handling, fun factor, no body lean.....it's a full package winner.

If I had the Trax, when it comes time to refresh the supension id put the factory watts link upgrade in along with some upgraded dampers. Seems like a good cheap family car if it hold up well.

All you car guys need to get off the "all wheel drive" band wagon. Unless you live in snowy areas the front wheel drive configuration will do great. Both cars are great. Something both of you missed is the Buick appears to have a 5" lower load floor ... so you do have basically the same cargo room, 5 cubic feet isn't a deal breaker. Something GM needs to offer as a dealer installed option is a 1 14" lifestyle hitch, I need one for the wife's wheel chair rack ... got a older Escape to pull trailers with.

I love the Buick Envista and want this small SUV bad! However, my current car has sold me on the red leather interior seats, and the panoramic sunroof. These are two features I would want in the envista and I don’t see. I wonder would they add these two features? Also, no word on auto start?

They both look nice, I prefer the look of the Buick which is subjective. My only concern is turbocharging a small 3 cylinder engine?? Sure it’s peppy but at what cost, taxing that small engine enters unknown territory long term. I’m thinking that if either one is your choice maybe it would be a good candidate for a 3 year lease, after 36 months you can turn it in. I may be wrong but I can’t see this engine going north of 100K miles without problems, this is just my opinion.

The Chevy Trailblazer has the 1.2L 3 cylinder Turbo since 2020 and no major issues, just relax OEMs are gonna be using 3 cylinder motors to come to save coins. GM good job solid vehicle........

I bought the 2024 Trax. I was concerned about the small 3 cylinder engine so I also bought an extended warranty. 120,000 miles/72 months. So I'm covered for the first 6 years.

Between the two I'd probably go for a Trax in a lower trim level to get cloth seats, non-automatic HVAC and physical gauge needles. Stylewise the Trax appeals to me more - it's morphing back into a station wagon where the Envista makes me think if I'm going to get a liftback it'll be a Civic or Mazda 3.

I have the Trax LT and I have not had any issues. It is not the fastest but once it gets started - its a nice ride. The interior cabin feels the same as my GMC Terrain ( spacious). Good job Chevy -

I just bought my 2025 Chevy Trax and I love it. I added a roof rack and mud flaps to give it a more sporty look. You can't do that with the Envista although the Envista is a nice looking vehicle it just didn't give me the look that I wanted.

They both look great. The Trax appeals more to my head with its larger, higher-mounted brake lights for safety, rear wiper, and larger cargo area. The Envista appeals more to my heart with its sexy, upscale styling. Both vehicles make me very leery about long-term reliability. GM Korea is infamous for expensive to repair, failure-prone little turbo engines.

I wish you had highlighted the differences better between the trim levels. For example the envista avenir only has a special type of suspension to make it softer writing that the others don't have. Also I don't think it's fair that when the people doing the review they always pick the top of the line with every single item in it. I think you guys should have also covered some of the problems this vehicle currently has so people know about them like the screen on the envista where the entire dash goes dead. People have to have a full picture of how good this vehicle is before considering a purchase. It shows promise however like most GM vehicles they never follow through to make sure the quality gets better. Plus the idea of going with a fully aluminum motor with an aluminum block that's kind of dangerous specially something that runs as fast and as hard as a 3 cylinder. I would respect GM more if they chose a more solid motor that has a track record

Surprised by the better quality and look of both. I would tend to favor the Buick, yes I am over 50, but the fastback styling paired with a very unique front end is quite striking than the normal rental car-looking small SUVs that GM is known to produce. I own stock in GM and these type of reviews make me happy to see that GM can make smaller/good SUVs and not just gigantic suburbans. Wish there was a hybrid version or PHEV, because these days 30mpg should not be acceptable averages if we are reduce our oil dependence.

The Envista is a great idea. It looks like the BMW. I wish Buick would offer engine options. The 1.2 turbo seems to be underpowered. Yes, I know its 130s HP, If they could do a small 4 cylinder, turbo and get 300 HP, get great gas millage and still be under $30K. That would be a win win for Buick.

I am not a fan of the Envista body, especially the front and back. The front just comes off less like an suv and more like a sedan and the back slope just makes it feel more round and fat. The Trax on the other hand looks more aggressive in all the right ways, where the front looks like something sporty while the back feels more streamlined with some decent depth.

You guys did short the Trax .5 points when it comes to headroom. That makes the score 4.5 Chevy - 5 Buick. The price difference makes the Trax the by far the better value, which is what this segment is all about. Might be one in my garage in the future.

C'mon, is this really surprising? A Buick should always be nicer than a Chevy. Chevy is generally the brand for entry-level, and budget conscious drivers and buyers who are younger and would like something more sporty. A Buick is traditionally for someone a little older, has a little more money to spend, and who is looking for something more refined with additional features.

Got both my kids a trax last year...bout $50K for 2 very solid 'kid cars' that nobody will race lol. As an aside they are (very unusually for these days) cheap to fix (body damage) so there's that. Recommended.

GUYS!!! They dont and could not have AWD on a 1.3 L! Already bad enough, its shocking these new small 1.3, 1.5, even 1.7 Litres are getting turbos in them. Its ridiculous. Defeating the purpose of being economical and fuel efficient May seem fun, but very impractical. Can never, ever, go wrong with 2.0s or 2.4s. These are the safe zone engines. All my cars have been GM with these size engines and they have been great for power and economical.

If GM made an EV version for same price , an EV that's not a throw away car when the battery goes bad but a real fixer upper , with after market ebike rear wheels and short 5 to 10 mile range batter with role bar cage and battery on the roof , for road trips full gas mode , for short trip to grocery store and back the EV mode and change the name to something more progressive like chevy III and Buick Apollo,

Buick is better. The aisin transmission vs the hydramatic in the Chevy is huge. Plus Chevy always looks like it’s designed by an 8 year old.
