I have a notebook in Evernote called "Commonplace Book," and the minute I take the screenshot, I move it into that notebook. That way all my captures are together for when I'm ready to write them in the actual book. Now, I just need to get better about actually transferring them to the book. (Your handwriting is so neat that on first glance, I actually thought your notes were typed!)

That’s a great idea to have everything in one place to transfer. I’m trying to do something like this, but digital organization is not my strength. I try to set aside time at least once per month to update my common place book! Hopefully this video inspired you to work on yours. ❤️

OK this is the best, most comprehensive, video I have seen seen on commonplacing, and I appreciate it so much!

Thank you!! Does this mean you’re going to start one? 😬

@@LindaLovesCreating I am! My washi dots arrived yesterday. I’m just trying to decide if I want to use a bound book or TN’s.

Thanks for sharing! I think commonplace books are helpful!

Thank you! I’m finding it very helpful for sure.

I love the dot key codes! I see them used sometimes (not always) in other videos about commonplace notebooks, but not with the clear separation. The line along the margin just makes it look so neat. Thank you for sharing! 🤩

Thank you! I think I saw someone else do the line separator, but maybe not with the dots, and it just clicked as a way to make it easy to read + aesthetically pleasing to use the dots. I wish I could link who inspired me, but I can’t recall… it was just one of those things you subconsciously pick up. I’m happy you enjoyed it!

I'm not sure if you're going to hear the same thing, but at about 5:30, there's a dual VoiceOver going on... it's like there was the original recording and then a recording over it - but the recording over it didn't completely replace the original, if that makes any sense.

oh shoot sorry about this! I messed it up a little in editing and didn't catch it, I hope it didn't ruin the entire video for you. It looks like it was only for about 20 seconds.

It's fine - but just so you know - this has happened before... I was wondering if maybe there was a glitch in your editing software where you might not be able to hear it. I know this is not your "day job" and I certainly don't want to suggest that I don't appreciate your hard work - but thought you might want to know. @@LindaLovesCreating

@@lynnegillis8910 Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. It's not a glitch, just when you adjust things later in the video in iMovie sometimes it shifts the sound files earlier in the video in an annoying way and I didn't notice. I will be more diligent about checking for these issues. I edited the above video (with what limited ways you can once it's uploaded) to remove the portion that was affected.

I have sooo many screen shots- now I know what to do with them! I started a common place sometime ago, but didn’t work in it, putting the info from screenshots and it is perfect! Are you still keeping up with yours?
@LindaLovesCreating4 ай бұрын
Yes!! I work in mine about once per month and find that is plenty of time to add in all the accumulated bits. I actually have a more recent video where I share an update here: 2024 Commonplace Book // Updates & answering common questions kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIHXhWpse8yWnbM

What kind of pen are you using? I love how dark the black is.

My favorite pen is the Sarasa mark-on 0.5. It’s so bold black but also quick dry so it’s great for tomoe river paper. amzn.to/3HtzaeA
