2024: Complete Rebuild Guide for Evo 8/9 ACD Pump

Here is a complete in-depth guide how to rebuild your evo 8/9 ACD pump from A-Z. All of these steps and tricks took me a few years to learn and a handful of pumps i attempted to rebuilt and a handful of successfully rebuilt ones.

this video is really good, thanks a lot for making it. I rebuilt my pump last year, thought all had gone well but when pressure testing it, it won't build more than 80/90 psi. In your video you suggested in one of your pumps that did the same that this could be due to a blockage? or too tight/too loose bolts? too weak motor? With the blockage, any idea how to clear it? Thanks a lot!

I tired everything to clear the blockage 150 psi compressed air from all ports and brake cleaner no luck. Need to remove all the check freeze plugs out with stack of welds and vice grip slide hammer to get them out and blow it out then replace with Alan plugs

@@Bang4BuckRacing thanks for your reply. In yours, the pump with the blocked pipe didn't hold the pressure...mine does, it just doesn't reach the amount needed. Could that be something else instead of a blocked pipe do you think? Any other ideas you may have, I'm all ears! Thanks again

Just like in the video do the dry housing test with a compressor. You should see 150 psi if you don’t there is a blockage in the housing and you gotta experiment on how to clear it out I had no luck. If you do see the 150 psi during the dry housing test but don’t build desired pressure after rebuild with fluid added, either your seal isn’t good enough inside the housing or maybe your electric motor is to weak. It’s something you have to keep messing with over and over until you get it right. I will add the website in the description where I got the new electric motor.

Where do you generally get the rebuild kits at? Did you find one that’s better than others or generally are they all the same besides the recommendations you mentioned. Would love to tackle mine the 3 lights came on after doing a clutch job

Yours just may need a bleeding then cause I assume you had to pull the line to the tcase to take it off. Refer to my other video the acd troubleshooting guide and it shows you how to bleed it. Thanks for reminding me I will include a link to the kits I like in the description!

np I Did try to bleed it but I never heard the pump kick on. Ill check that video out though and see if there is any thing else I missed.@@Bang4BuckRacing

Refer to my other video how to test what your acd code is and go from there but it’s most likely your acd pump and you need to follow this videoc

You most definitely can, but not every pump is always saveable depending on how bad the corrosion is. Find me on ig the_ipockalypse and send me some good pictures of it
