If anyone else had the same issue i had where the Forge installer from the modpack i got would not work no matter what i did - the solution is to download the same version of that installer from the Forge website directly. The Forge team had to patch the installers in late February because Mojang changed some important stuff. Took me an hour to figure this out, hope it saves some of you some time haha

you have to portforward you server you havent already, then they use your public IP to join the server.

Idk probably you just dont update and play on an older mod version lol. Maybe you can replace the mods in the server mods file with updated ones but idk if it will cause issues as I haven't done that.

-xmx is the maximum amount of ram that will be used, and -xms is the minimum ram that can be used.

See, mods didn't work for me. Vanilla world runs fine, but once I moved my mods over to the mods folder, it would crash. I tried just moving one mod over, fabric, crash. My modpack works fine on SP, but not on my server.

For any of you having issues with the 'start.ps1' powershell file, I just found out that you can't have spaces in the name of your folder where it's stored in, if you want to separate words just use an underscore.

Fun protip for all the dudes who want a custom modpack server with like 50+ mods. Don't download all of them individually, playtest and troubleshoot a singleplayer modpack through curseforge, follow this guy's server installation instructions with the same version of forge your modpack shows, and then just "open folder" on your modpack, and drag the mods into the server's mods folder (the run.bat file needs to be ran once before that folder will appear)

It might be in your run.bat file, it might say like -xmx(value) you can just change it to -xmx6G or whatever you need it to be

I noticed that with some modpacks the eula is created after you run server starter and while its running it will tell you to allow the eula or something like that and then you just have to changed the value to true like you showed

@@neolundgren8203try using Ngrok as a way to open your server publically (Ngrok tcp 25565, once you get it running), there's alternatives, try looking up "how to set up public minecraft server with ngrok" you should get a good tutorial

I took an existing modpack (Better MC) and added some mods to it. I have a save and would like to create a server for the same modified modpack to run the same world. The download server pack button gets the original, unmodified, modpack and doesn't load my saved world. I've tried simply adding the mods (apart from client side mods) to the uncompressed server pack, but it still has some issues. Do you have any advice on how to proceed? Thanks

If you only want the modified version of your world to be in the server, you can copy your world file from your Curseforge modpack files (of the modified Better MC) and paste it to the world file of the server. It worked for me!

@@bleakautomaton4808 If you are using Curseforge, after clicking on your modpack profile there should be like an options menu in which you can find the Modpack Files option. This should take you to the file directory :)
