Thanks for the review. I ordered on Amazon last November, and despite the paint defects and limited articulation, I’m still excited for these. Definitely could’ve used more expressions like a “worried wide eyed” Darkwing. I didn’t think of applying heat to loosen joints.

It's about time the Terror That Flaps in the Night got the toy treatment he rightfully deserves. Villain wise Nega-Duck is a cool one though I probably would have started with Darkwing's oldest most regularly used foe Megavolt, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, these look awesome and now I want to pick them up.

Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb! Great reference, dude! Awesome review, cool figure pack with all those accessories but the frustration with the paint apps and difficulty to swap pieces is an issue! Regardless, my younger self has always wanted a great DD figure! Okay, younger and older self. Cheers! ☕️

Finally a regular NegaDuck figure. It's sad playmates didn't release NegaDuck in 1992 and Disney Afternoon Funko didn't release him in red and yellow form. You can also get Jim Cummings to sign the box.

THese look pretty good. Hopefully my toy store has them in stores now. DIamond Select toys are usually like this. paint issues and cheaper plastic. It's just how we can get more affordable figures. Similar to NECA pretty much always uses cheaper plastic.

Honestly, the problems here look like a bad NECA release. Too much paint, brittle joints. Super7 would mold everything in solid colors with soft plastic and have loose joints that need to be tightened. Those are all actually parts of why I prefer a bad Super7 release to a bad NECA release. Would much, much rather have loose joints, gummy plastic, and too little paint than tight joints, rigid plastic, and paint on things that shouldn't be painted.

I think Jada would be a good candidate do do Darkwing figures as well. Super 7 gets just as sloppy I've had quite a few figures ranging from 50-65 dollars which I find pretty unacceptable. Jada gives you every bit of your dollars worth and then some

Those hats are a real bummer. I'd say having the hat fit properly is more important than every head having the unhat'ed top. But, could be somewhat of an easy fix to carve out more space for the head hole to get it to fit further down on the head. Wish they did a Darkwing single release..

The hat issue is so bizarrely counter-intuitive, especially with a character that has interchangeable parts. The top of the head should’ve just been interchangeable with the hat. However! I can confirm that the plastic on those hats is thick enough, that you can hollow them out and have them sit on the head correctly. I did it with a dremmel, and was able to get the hats to fit all the way down to the top of the mask. When you do that, it looks REALLY good. It’s a little ridiculous to have to go to such lengths (had to touch up some paint issues as well) but with some modifications, these can be really nice figures - and easily better than anything else released previously for Darkwing.

I wasn't an avid Darkwing watcher as a kid, I think he was always up against either TMNT or Batman in my market, but I have always liked the design. And that theme song slaps! I should have got the Funko one back in the day because while these look good, I prefer the scale Funko was going with and, obviously these have clear and obvious problems and are far more expensive. Those Funko figures, considering the price, were great! At a more premium level, I'd expect better paint and for the articulation to be a little more functional. Only two heads for Darkwing? That's a shame.
