It does get frustrating and depressing when you try and it seems like something always happens. I started to try and then truck would break down. Start over then needed new hot water heater, etc. I started again this time and now we got a $300 water bill and are having to find and fix the water leak somewhere in the yard. I’m not trying to bring you down more but I want you to know that it takes more courage to get back up. Doing this video shows you are courageous. Chin up, my friend. We will all get through this. We just need to keep trying.

@@Pamcatmom in '22, we had a good 6 and closer to 8 months of big unplanned, needed expenses which were big for our budget. As time went on we got a tigher and tighter budget, more money set aside from unplanned expenses expenses in tne regular budget, and also buffed up buffers (like an emergency fund). We changed a LOT of our spending habits,,the way we bought things, the things we bought, and WHEN we bought. 8n gemeral,general, paid the bills and did a couple of firm set asides at the beginning of the month then did no spend/ low-spend until the very end of the month. This let us handle or better handle the unexpected expenses during the month. At the end of the month, we budgeted what was left over and this is when we did our discretionary spending. We learned to wait until the very last day before new income came in to discretionary spend.

You’ll be good. Do Not go buy a car next month for 30k! So many people do that. My advice: put all of your cards in an envelope and write yourself a note that you should not be using them and why and that can be what you have to read the next time you want to grab one of those cards. Keep it in a safe or hide it somewhere, so that it’s not easy to just grab the card and use it. If you need anything (keyword “need”), buy it used. Any appliances you can find for sale for pennies on the dollar. Often times it’s couples that are moving in together and then they have an extra washer and dryer that they want to get rid of. Or an extra stove or fridge, etc. We have even found two used furnaces over the years and one of them we have been using for a long time now (paid $300 for it). You can always buy new when you can afford it. One thing I started to do is seeing how many days you can go without buying anything. It’s a habit to think we need to buy stuff. Can you go a week without spending a nickel? Try it. I’ve had my share of debt over the years and these are just some things that worked for me. I was holding my breath waiting for the student loans and YAY-none!!! Now go do this. Look around. What can you sell?

I currently have student loans, but with how the SAVE plan works I do not plan to aggressively pay it down as if it were a CC or car loan. Other than that I have about 7.5k in collections from a hard patch after a job loss and car accident. That was going to be my recent goal especially since I think I'd be able to pay closer to 5k (It was around 4k before all of the late fees). However, due to new medical circumstances- that is on hold as a priority.

I’m so sorry you have to go thru this, I feel you I had so much medical debt 2 years ago. I don’t qualify for free health care. I have insurance but a $5,000 copay 😔 I pray things get better for you

Fátima I will take your advice into consideration. I want a new perfume, but they are so expensive. For now I’ll use up the one I have which I don’t like much. It’s a blue Versace.

My concern is that you said you just found out about the Apple debt your husband has, was he hiding it?
@planbudgetsave
@planbudgetsave 5 ай бұрын
No he was not hiding it. he bought an Apple Watch which I knew about but I thought was paid off but with our income and other debt minimum payments get us nowhere. So that’s the story Thank you for your concern

Sorry, I was just worried that he was hiding it, and I went straight to the poor lady,6 I hope that is all the debt he is hiding. This is not the case, so it's algood, and I was concerned for you for no reason. I have been watching too much Dave Ramsey show and the latest one I watched was about partners hiding debt.
