The Disneyworld HM is absolutely gorgeous. I love all the spiderwebs on it. Love it. Spiritual guidance & elevating ghoul have definitely peeked my interest. That elvira church is super cool. I love Hocus Pocus, but idk that I want to collect an entire village theme of it. I kinda rather just traditional Halloween themed stuff.

I agree with you about the porcelain pieces. I can't tell you how many times being able to super glue my Lemax accessories together has saved my wallet. I laughed pretty hard when you were talking about the beard on the guy as it panned up for the reveal. Unintentional humor, I'm sure, but it was pretty funny. Great pieces, can't wait!

Wow. I don’t like to be too negative but I just wonder how much longer d56 can continue, at some point the retailers won’t be making any profit… I just picked up the entire GOT series at a retirement sale for like $100 bucks :/

Great review Carl! I have seen the prices, and they are not inexpensive! As far as the shiny porcelain pieces, they could make it more matte finish. I believe since the Original Snow Village started in 76 which was and still is glossy finish and the Halloween village is a branch of that which started in 98, they just kept the same style and finish.

I think Dept 56 has some of the best Halloween village accessories and "spiritual guidance" is a must have for 2024. I'll also be taking a look at "a chill in the air" and "elevating ghoul" (it's a shame this piece doesn't light-up though).

Thank you! Honestly I can’t remember exactly what I used to create the intro-I’ve used it for so long. I do know it was a free app and I created it on my iPhone. Today I use Final Cut Pro for all of my editing.

Agree with you on a lot of what you say. I don’t mind the shiny porcelain on a few pieces for the nostalgia. I’m going to have to get the fall and thanksgiving pieces and accessories. Have to do the Sleepy Hollow and WDW mansion stuff. This is going to get expensive! I am not a fan of Elvira or Hocus Pocus either, but I love the 2 buildings and think they would fit in great into the Sleepy Hollow stuff. They may release a Sleepy Hollow church in the future though so I might wait. I’m not sure if I missed it, but did you review the cat piece that I think coordinates with this year’s pet cemetery?

Love the hocus pocus pieces added. My wife is a huge fan of the movie so we will have to get it. I don’t like the fall/thanksgiving pieces. I feel like it’s an entirely different display with the fall pieces which doesn’t work for us since we display our entire village as one display. I will be curious to see if the boardwalk accessories fit together seemlessly. They appear to not, but I hope I am wrong. If they do those will be great!

Since they aren’t adding a crypt I’m glad they have at least done some quality graveyard accessories. I also like the scarecrow piece. Not a fan of much else this time around. I guess there must be a financial incentive for Enesco on making these licensed brand pieces. I just don’t find them stirring to my creativity since they pretty much all get displayed the same. Don’t care for the sisal trees or water towers. Be a good time for Lemax to make some crypts. I sure hope they come back strong at mid year with a Trick or Treat Lane house. Btw that fall house with the see through window is very much like the Thanksgiving at Grandma’s that I have had for years. The whole thing makes me want to drink a monster-tini.

Hey Carl, any good ideas for camouflaging the elevation hook on the ghoul? He is a great piece and hiding that hook would make him even more spectacular in a cemetery scene.

department 56 had in the past years some absolutely SUPERB houses and accessories. Absolutely nothing I liked from what you presented. Lemax has 10 times more beautiful houses and accessories this year. Most of the things that Department 56 came up with to meet the year 2024 are simplistic and as if repetitive. Absolutely nothing special.
