2024 Detroit River White/Silver bass fishing

Caught around 20 fish from 6am to 8am on Detroit River. No boat required. You can catch the fish from shore.

TOOK 40 HOME ON FRIDAY WITH SOME PERCH TO FINISH OUT LIMIT, WAS ON THE PIER ! GOING TO TRY IT OF FRIDAY AGAIN . U THINK THEY'LL STILL BE IN ? THANX.

I heard they stay around the pier for about 3 weeks from their run has begun. I got a limit of fish at the end of May last year, so I think they'll still be in there this weekend.

I need help. Where can I fish for some white bass too? I'm not asking for your secret spots, but just asking for places where it's possible for my 6 year old son to cast and catch some too.

I recommend a fishing pier at the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. The pier is a good place for fishing with your son. There is a safety fence so the pier is very safe for kids. however due to the fence height, it might be little difficult to cast by your 6 yrs old son. If you go there, I highly recommend you should go there in the early moring on weekday. there are lots of fisherman on the pier if you go there weekend, you may not be able to cast & enjoy fishing with your son. I guess still you can catch the fish but the bite is slowing down now.

@@minicmichiganfishing7412 I went there today but only caught one. Everyone else was struggling too, because I only saw one other person who brought in a fish (and it easily was the size of my small hand). I ended up giving that one white bass away. But there was two old Chinese men who walked behind and saw my catch. One of them asked to see my bait and then nodded and walked away with it. I didn’t say he could have it but I didn’t want to be greedy so I just let him have it. He looked like he didn’t know how to catch fish because he had at least three hooks on his line. Anyways, it was a struggle today and I don’t think I will go back there again.

You're right. I was supprised this spot was so messy. I cleaned up around my standing area when I was done. all of fisherman have to bring back thier own trash otherwise the spot will be closed.

@@minicmichiganfishing7412 I went on the pier and it was filthy as well. Plastic water bottle. Bags, used worm containers.. smh
