Hello! I'm glad you stopped by for this early fall decorating inspiration. It has been hot where I live and summer still has weeks to go so I'm not ready to fully embrace fall decor with pumpkins and changing leaves. But, I am ready to start a slow transition with my home decor that will make it easy to add those things soon. What are your thoughts on decorating with pumpkins this early? I'm curious to hear your opinion! Last week I found a beautiful antique secretary desk on Facebook Marketplace and look forward to sharing it along with how I easily restored the finish! Something I tried and loved is covering the back. If those shelves come out, you can take your peal and stick paper and apply onto the back and then put shelves back in. It is fun for the short term. And I'm pretty sure it comes off easily without any sticky residue.

Thanks for sharing this product. I recently purchased a framed mirror/shelf combo that was poorly finished. It looked so much better after a rub down with 0000 steel wool and walnut Restor a Finish. I wouldn’t have known about this product without your video. Seeing your results and having your step by step instructions gave me the confidence to spend the money on the supplies and give it a go. Totally awesome find for $40! I was so happy to see you using the Restore a Finish correctly, using 4 ought(4 0000) steel wool. Have seen people use a rag to put it on, might as well use a bottle of oil.

There is another product that has been out of stock at my Lowes that is also by Howards called Feed N Wax. It can be used after you restore the finish and is a beeswax based product that adds additional protection to your furniture. As soon as it comes back in stock I want to use it on this piece as well. I inherited that secretary desk from my ma. It was originally my grandpa’s. I found his old savings account info under letter box! The only difference is it has a sort of ornate top piece on it. Also I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stubbed my toe on the claw foot feet. I think this has ones that are bigger and protrude out more. I love all the furniture I inherited and will treasure it always. Take care.❤

The gold cup could be a Mint Julep cup. Mint Julep is a Southern alcoholic drink most associated with the Kentucky Derby.
