I did the same thing this year. Got rid of so much decor and only decorating minimally. I had a good 6/7 Christmas totes I got rid of so much I now only have 3 small totes and that includes a tote for my ornaments. I find myself getting overwhelmed during the holidays and realized it's because there's too much decor. So now I only decorate minimally and I keep the decor similar to how I do in the summer months. For example I have a vase on my dining room table with faux greenery. I changed the greenery for fall greenery. I changed out my beach kitchen towels for fall ones. I definitely didn't go crazy and I'm seeing a lot more people do the same thing. Love the video as usual!

I absolutely love that! That’s about what I did! It’s perfect and normal. I think KZbin 2017-2019 kind of made the over decorated homes a thing and I think we all got overwhelmed quick! Haha!

Well I couldn't watch this morning, but I ran to watch, when I got home. I wonder if wanting less stuff comes with age, because I have less stuff and do not want more. I did a lot for a long time. I'm older than you though. Your house is so beautiful and all your decorations look so good. I loved the out takes of you putting up the curtains because that would be me.

I think KZbin influenced a lot of us to go way overboard too. 2017-2019 was bad!! It got me. I never ever decorated like that before KZbin. It was fun when it was fun but when something becomes overwhelming then it’s time to go! I’m much happier with the minimal decor! ♥️ Thank you! 😊

I love how your decor turned out. Your house is always sooo beyond beautiful, i just love it! I went through all of our decor earlier this year and got tid of anything we no longer used and anything cheap or poor quality. I now dont have much, but what I have is good quality and beautiful. Soneday, i woukd like to get a few more things, but I would rather wait to get good quality items, then several poor quality things that I dont absolutely love. How are you and the kids? Hows your husband? You guys are on my heart often.

I’ve continued to declutter my seasonal decor too. My daughter goes through my donate pile to decorate her bedroom! A suggestion for your dinning room… get some orange candle sticks for your dining room table and some candles for the wall decor behind the table. It would be an expensive way to add a touch more “fall” into the room. 😊

Your house looks beautiful! I live in the Netherlands and to me it is funny to see that people from the USA seem to really like fall. In the Netherlands, fall means lots and lots of rain and since we bike a lot (to work, drop off our kids at school, groceries etc) this means being constantly soaking wet 😂 Not so much ‘sweater weather’ but more like ‘raincoat weather’. When I wash my curtains I hang them up right out of the washer never have issues with wrinkles!

@KeepCalmAndClean I had similar issues putting up a new curtain rod a couple of years ago. I never had a problem before that. They're just designed weirdly now. Have you had any issues with your cat climbing your curtains? I had a kitten drop into my life in July 2023, and she's shredded my velvet drapes... 🙄🫤
