I rented this ski last year and I was blown away at how different and better it was than other skis. So much so I want to buy a pair. However, having a difficult time getting them in the uk. Are there any comparable skis that give the same type of ride? Usually have 180’s.

There's not much else out there that fully compare to this ski's width, power, carving ability, and composure. Head Superhshape e.Titan, Atomic Redster Q9.8, and Stockli Montero AR should be on your list to check out. The new Fischer Curv 85 is a bit lighter and with a shorter radius than the RC One 86. Definitely take a look but not the same sturdiness.

Hi! How do you like these skis compared to the same model for the 2022-2023 season?
@SkiEssentials7 ай бұрын
Still incredibly stout, and I think a bit smoother with the lack of Bafatex. Can't tell a huge difference, but quieter, I'd say.

How does it compare to the Fischer Ranger 92Ti? I love the Fischer 92Ti but I often lack edge grip on the slopes, especially in artificial snow, and I would like a tighter radius.
@SkiEssentials9 ай бұрын
I loved the 92 Ti as well! The 86 is considerably denser and more planted of a ski. I can't imagine you'll need or want more stability or edge grip on firm snow.

Hi, i would like to ask should i buy this,or supershape rally/titan if i want to learn carving
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
The Rally is likely the one that's going to help you get what you want. The Fischer is quite heavy and stiff, and is also on the wider side of the spectrum. The width of the Fischer and the Titan keeps it a bit more in the advanced/expert side of the spectrum, at least for learning to carve.

There is any remarkable change vs last year? How this compares to Elan Wingman 86 CTI?
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
The best we can tell, they did away with Bafatex and just left the Turn Zone as metal free without any additive materials. We did not find this to be a remarkable change.
@albertoch Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Which one would you choose between these and Elan Wingman 86 CTI (European skier)?
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
@@albertoch I prefer the Elan, but only slightly, and only because it's easier to ski overall. The Fischer is great, but it's a handful so it's tough to be on it every day all day. The Elan is more accessible without losing too much when it comes to performance, carving, stability, and edge grip.

How does it compare to Deacon 84 when it comes to off-piste (mixed, chopped, not too deep)?
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
The Fischer simply plows right through like it's not even there. Volkl is great, but the RC One is exceptional in off piste chopped snow.

hi, How does it compare to the Rossignol 86 experience ti?
@SkiEssentials10 ай бұрын
The Fischer is damper, smoother, more powerful, and yes, heavier. There's more all-mountain versatility with the Rossignol, and while you do lose a bit when it comes to raw horsepower, I think the trade is worth it if you are spending some time in off-trail situations.

Fischer RC One 86 GT or The Curve GT in what length? 5’9” (175cm) 160lb (72kg) level 8 skier, western Quebec. Technica Mach One boots. ( always find it interesting that boots are never part of a ski evaluation or recommendation. I think it matters but what do I know) Interested in technique and still take lessons Thanks Appreciate the content. Information and entertainment!

Thanks, and you are spot on about boots, however the fit is very personal, as is the flex, and it'd be darn near impossible to get a good read on someone without either seeing their skiing or seeing their actual foot in their actual boot to bring it into the conversation. Boot fitting shops are great at getting skiers dialed in, and make sure you have a good footbed (custom is best) in the boot to maximize energy transfer and comfort. To the skis, I do like the added width of the RC One 86, as the Curve GT falls more to the front side focused side of the spectrum. If you're on-trail all the time and are specifically looking to keep in the GS style of turn shape, then the Curv is more appropriately matched to that, but for one pair of skis to handle both on-trail carving and slightly variable snow, the RC One is more versatile.

Hi, How does it compare to the Nordica Steadfast 85?
@SkiEssentials Жыл бұрын
Steadfast is quite a bit easier to manage. The Fischer is pretty darn hefty and is very much planted on the snow. You get total and complete stability with the Fischer. The Steadfast is great, but it does not have that upper end when it comes to rock-solid performance. That said, on most days, the Steadfast has more to offer from a versatility and usability standpoint.
