Tremor removes the 4k tow package because the improved ground clearance doesn't leave room for the larger radiator which is part of the 4k tow package. People have exceed the 2k limit on tremors in hilly country and reported engine overheating.

I like the tremor package but it sacrifices to much or deletes the utilitarian of the trucks reasons to purchase it. If you drove 90% of the time off road you might consider it. If 90% is a daily driver, hauling and towing it's not even something to consider. Like was mentioned in the vehicle is the loss of 4000lb towing and max rating is only 2000lb on the tremor. Next you cannot get a high capacity radiator and the upgraded fan. Something to consider if I can't pull a neighbor out of snow or a ditch what's the use of the tow hooks or having AWD? Another is the Tremor package has a loss of 5 mpg for hwy compared to the AWD. You also lose payload capacity so you are not able to haul as much cargo. Let's talk about ground clearance. The tremor package comes standard with p235 at tires and has a 9.4 inch ground clearance. The AWD has 8.6 with p225 tires. Theoretically if the p235 tires are .51 taller you should gain .225 ground clearance,. So theoretically if you got the optional p235 tires on the AWD you should get 8.85 ground clearance vs 9.4 on the tremor. Not a noticeable difference for light off road. I ordered a Maverick and I might miss the lockers but I gain so much that I can use on a daily basis. Besides if my neighbor needs help I can confidently use the truck as a recovery vehicle without voiding the warranty and just as importantly not damaging my vehicle (as long as it's not over 4000lbs) The Ford Maverick offers a lot for the consumer. Again if I did more off road use vs a daily driver I might have considered it. That's the advantages of having different options when ordering your vehicle making the build individual preferences to some degree.

The difference in payload between a Maverick Tremor and a Maverick AWD FX4 with 4K tow package is only about 100 pounds. 1,200 pound range vs 1,300 pound range.

@dvader3263 yep if I was buying a maverick it would not be to tow with. So I'd want the tremor for adventure and good times out doors as well as all the benefits of a smaller truck

@@Jason-Samko the difference might be that your using the truck more for off road vs daily driver. Which I might add you said more than once you wouldn't buy one. The majority of buyers are buying it for fuel economy and the broad range the truck can be used for (not just towing). To be honest the demand for hybrid (gas mileage) is like 52-55 % build vs ecoboost. Your already taking a hit on mileage just going to ecoboost than again with AWD. To be honest in hwy mileage there isn't much difference between the two. Now if you want lockers and approach angle improved and to pay more $$$ just for the tremor your also paying at the gas pump with a difference of 5 mpg hwy. Yes you get the bed with less payload, 5 passenger capacity for the family, ease of ingress and egress, easier to load or unload the bed (because of the height and the height of the bed rails) easier parking, turning diameter etc . You lose the majority reason why it's so popular the initial low cost to purchase and the low cost of ownership at the gas station. That also which you touched on is not able to tow which means you shouldn't use the truck as a recovery vehicle. For me this is a big red flag also if I was going to use it off road I surely would want the high capacity radiator and upgraded fan that's not available on the tremor. Lastly let's make this as clear as I can you lose control on corners because the tremor with a little softer ride comes with more body roll which is a loss in handling. So besides listing the difference you can see why you lose a lot of the small trucks advantages by buying the tremor package for just being used as a daily driver (for those wanting to buy or purchase the Maverick). I've ordered, I'm willing or wanting to buy a Maverick. I really wanted those lockers. The truck I'm replacing has front limited slip and rear traction lok axles. Unfortunately it loses every appeal for the purpose of purchasing by buying the tremor package. Then again I'm counting on the intelligent AWD system. Having tractors and realizing the significance of braking left or right for a shorter turning diameter. To say I was impressed was an understatement that similar technology is incorporated on the AWD system. Even then I know I'm going to miss those lockers just not willing to accept the losses to get them.

@HuronRiver-ke8xn you did your homework and bought the one that is best for you. Thats outstanding! I will say though just so you are aware. Tow rating vs recovery are not the same. You can recover anything you can pull out without voiding warranty. Towing numbers take many driving items into account that are not relevant to recovery. Again congratulations on your amazing maverick

It's not a truck that I could use either. But I sure do see why so many people love it. Compact, yet tons of interior space and a bed and fits in parking and in garage. Great for so many people.

@HuronRiver-ke8xn yep I know people that waited 2 years to get one in the beginning. And the popularity of that maverick has spurred a whole new race for more compact trucks. People love them. I have drove 2 and reviewed 2. I can definitely see why people love them

The Maverick 54 inch bed length is only 6 inches shorter than the Colorado, Gladiator and Ranger 60 inch bed. As many would say, 6 inches isn't much of a deal breaker.

I think it's perfect for urban people thst need to small size for parking, garage,etc yet still want to explore, and spend time in the amazing outdoors. It's affordable, functional, and checks alot of boxes
