Yep the last gen 2019-2023 ranger is excellent and love the tremor package. Really hoping when the 25 tremor comes out it comes with front torsen lockers like the 150 and super duty tremors do!

I have to be honest here. The new Ranger has a lot of nice features that it didn't have before. Some things I simply don't agree with. First is the key. In 2024 we should have push button start across the board. At the very least the XL should just have a key and the rest should have push button. Secondly is the fact that the back seat is not a 60/40 split. Third is the fact that the price difference between the XLT and Lariat is so overpriced and stupid. Put aside all of the stupid things about it, and from a style perspective it looks nicer than before, just not worth the price. Thank you for your great review on this truck. New subscriber.

I HATE push to start. I'm checking to see if I can convert my push to key start in my other cars.... There should be a way!!!! I hate push as much as I hate stop/start... saving 1 MPG for the price of a new premature starter!!!! Bullcrap!!!!!

I don't drive trucks. I recently test drove a 2024 Colorado ZR2 and found it bouncy and firm. Is this a normal truck ride? Or, something specific to the ZR2?

The zr2 will be much softer than many trucks as it has an off road suspension bigger tires on smaller rims. And an amazing suspension. Most other trucks will feel more firm and and less plush. A more stiffer harder ride in the other trucks.

Totally agree on every point. They had the chance to improve rear seat situation and didn't. I have a 21 ranger and like everything about it except for the rear seat situation and the 10 speed transmission programming.

How does the Fx4 crawl control work compared to Toyota?

Hopefully someone that knows will chime in for you. I have never used crawl control in any of the vehicles I've owned that have it. It's not a feature that's useful where I live in the flat swampy south.

I believe those are all ordered by dealers but none of them are actually at a dealer yet. Ford dealers did the same thing when the bronco came out. Might get it in 6 mo the might be a year and a half. But dealers put out ads showing a fake image of a raptor and the details of the one they put an order in for. So you can buy it. But you might not get it for a year or longer.

The key and push to start it depends. On a offroad truck then yes I want the push button start. The keys banging around is very annoying. On a regular vehicle I don't care one way or the other. The price I agree with with. I have a 2021 Ranger Lariat FX4 that I paid about 43k for and now to get the same features in a 2024 I'm at almost 9k more. Now do I get more for that money. Yeah I do but is it worth that much more, not in my opinion. The 18' wheels on the FX4, I agree with completely. Give me 17s on better and larger tires and I'd be happy.

Yep many think I'm over reacting on the key. But it's 2024. Nobody should ever have to take a key fob out of their pocket or purse ever, for anything. Key fob in the pocket, touch lock and unlock handles and push button start. Not only for convenience but also for safety in this messed up world we live in now.

My 2016 powerstroke I leave the key in the ignition and lock the doors pushing the keypad on driver door and unlock it with keypad and have never thought about it. My 2018 f150 has the push button and only difference is I don’t turn the key … i use the keypad on the door for locking and unlocking truck always and never have to worry about losing my keyfob are having it in my pocket … my wife’s 2020 Escalade doesn’t have the keypad and it’s always disappointing driving it and having to keep the keyfob in your pocket…

@JoeWayne84 on every vehicle I have owned in the last 7 years they all have push button start and also touch the handle to lock and grab the handle to unlock. Fob never leaves my pocket or my wife's purse. Never have to tough the fob the whole time you own the vehicle. This has been on gm, toyota and jeep. Ford offers it on on lariat and up trim levels. Then need this combo in the xlt.

I think the rear locker buttonless is a deal breaker for me, only because if I pull up to an icy intersection I don’t want to be fumbling around to find it on the display- I hate that, Chevy does that for their headlights- stop it!

Agree. However Ben hardy just did a video on a lariat model that had a locker button. Not sure if they are all getting it or just the lariat. All the other videos I watched before showed it only in the screen. Maybe those were pre production. Would be worth looking at in person to see. Keep waiting for a dealer around me to actually get one in so I can see and verify

The cynic in me sees dollar signs $$$$ Car dealers loved getting over MSRP and MSRP on what they had. People paid it to get a car during the pandemic. They are trying to recreate those times. Even Toyota who seemed to just add $5-7K on to the price of a new pickup was holding back till just recently. The price increase isn't enough for them. What? They never rolled out a new model before? It's March already! BS. The President said he wants to crack down on companies cheating the American public adding to inflation. Maybe he should look into these fake shortages. One thing I’ll tell everyone who ordered a ranger please don’t believe your dealership or your salesman or women that tells you it’s from the strike it’s not I’ve been following fords schedule for a while now I swear they do 2.5 months on broncos and then .5 of month on rangers cause one big dealer made a comment whenever a dealership orders them they are at a higher priority over the rangers

First world problems. The reason the 80's-90's Ranger is still the most popular mid/small size pick up is the simplicity. No frills, no tech.....nothing. I'm not a Ford guy and never have been but the previous generation Ranger is brilliant and I have a 60k mile 2008 Ranger I'll never sell. When you buy a vehicle, if you want an electric or air locker with a pushy button......install it. If you want more clearance and/or bigger tires.....install them. Vehicles prices the last few years have gone up. You have to pay to play to get what you want from the OEM or pay to install the things you want.

@2011buddylee saw both of those articles. The engine blocks were from a batch on a few 2023s only and gm is replacing whole motor. I think the biggest problem is all truck manufacturers are so supplier dependent and they go with the cheapest suppliers. 90% of recalls I would guess are do to supplier issues rather than manufacture issues. And we knew any fiesta year vehicle will have teething issues and first year problems. But I have to say I'm super impressed with how gm is handling the issues. And I believe gm is moving closer to the top in quality than any other manufacture while others are dropping down (again do to supplier issues). I bet by 2025 (3rd year) the colorado will be basically flawless and at the top of the quality and reliability scale with all bugs worked out and fine tuned. I have more fait in gm than I do in ford or toyota trucks.

Any new/newer vehicle nowadays will be a disappointment with all the plastic, soon to fail if not already failing electronics and of course the cheap steel that cracks or rusts to swiss cheese in just a few years. So yes, disappointing to those who are fool enough to even "think" of getting new or newer. I don't follow that crowd, no way no how! Not to mention all these things are WAY WAY OVERPRICED!

My '95 Chevy S10 ZR2 has stock size 31" tires. A modern Ranger FX4 should have at minimum 33" tires.

And that's a very rare situation like almost unheard of. But people are mugged and kidnapped and hurt every single day trying to get into thoer vehicle

1) Don't care about rear ac vents. They go under the seat and work fine. 2) Don't really care about split seat since there is minimal amount of storage underneath anyway. The rear seat back folds flat which is better than the colorado. 3) Fair, but very minor. 4) Not true. 5) Don't care. Some of us like keys. 6) I'll take the fuel economy and cheaper tires... but I'm not buying fx4 anyway. 7) 17" would be better. 8) Pricing is competitive with colorado and cheaper than comparably spec'd tacomas.

Sounds like it's perfect for you. 4 is true. The rear locker doesn't have an actual button in the 2024. Everything I have seen and watched shows it only in the offroad screen. If I'm wrong please tell me where to find it and I will correct myself.

You have to push the offroad page button by the shifter then go to the touch screen to use hill decent and locker. So until I see proof of other wise , everything I see shoes diff lock exactly like I said in the video

6 minutes into the Ben Hardy 2024 Ranger Lariat video there is clearly a physical diff lock button. It can probably also be controlled from the screen.

But I stand corrected. Hopefully all the new Rangers have that now and it's been changed from what all the other videos show.
