Gee, it's great to see you 😃 We're going into Autumn here in Australia. My climate is temperate so I can grow year round rarely getting a frost. I love watching the videos from the northern hemisphere, you all get so excited and it helps me overcome garden burnout at the end of a hot summer. Next week I'm preparing for brassicas, peas & salads, hoping the temperature will drop below 30 degrees Celsius so they don't struggle too much. I'd love some tea making videos using your harvests & keep up the beautiful photography. You're a woman of many talents 😃

Also, I agree about accepting your gardens limitations and not being so darn independent 😅 I use the markets/green grocers for what I can't grow, that's what they're there for 😉

It's so good to support local farms and it saves stress, money, and space to grow what is pleasurable! I hope your autumnal months are beautiful down there!

FWIW, I've had 2 Arp rosemary bushes in pots that have thrived through the past two winters in my patio with temps down to 9°F. I haven't protected them in any way. All my other rosemary varieties die off. Arp is also my favorite tasting of the rosemary varieties that I've tried- very dynamic and strong flavor without tasting medicinal at all.

Oh! Thank you for this info!! So far my rosemary is still alive in the drafty high tunnel (the wind keeps untucking the plastic on me!)

So Good to see you! This Will Be a great growing season! Looking forward to seeing your gardening endeavors this year. Last year was my first year growing Borage (for composting). The Japanese beetles loved it too much. This year, I will be locating it far away from other plants that those vicious beetles also loved (my beans and strawberries).
@PamsPrettyPlants9 ай бұрын
Oh thank you that is very good to know!! I hate those things! I planned to grow it in the far corner maybe I’ll use it as a trap or container it. 🤔 I wonder if I could harvest before July and pull it, that’s when the beetles show up here. Thanks for the info again I’m gonna think on it!

Thanks!!! I work in a factory that makes crap that ends up in landfills from (I assume) sweatshop textiles. It was a convenient, quick job option I’m glad I had when I needed it but it’s a dead end pit of despair I am counting the days to escape. Prior to covid I had a photography business. I was pretty burned out so I thought I’d take a break and get a random job and boy was that a mistake 😅

Definitely, probably not weddings again, but I intend to relaunch for portraits this year. It’s a tough market so I’ll probably do that and something else for a while. I’d love to find a part timer with a florist who maybe wants to train a willing employee! 🙋🏻♀️

So nice to see you…I was wondering where you were. I love leeks too, but I gave up due to my horrible allium bug…they are always in my leeks😜 I swear I have every bug in the world but I don’t spray to get rid of them so the cycle goes on. I planted Patterson onions for the first time last year in a brand new raised bed. The soil was so nutrient rich that I did not fertilize, they were average size and very good. 👍 I read somewhere that they are great planted with strawberries so I added some extra seedlings in with my berries and never fertilized those (should’ve) they were tiny so I pulled them and I’m going to plant them in early spring and see what happens. Good luck with your garden this year….sounds like you’ll be growing a lot of cool plants. 🙏

I had OK luck with the onions I put near my alpine strawberries last year so I think that might be true!? All the others kind of sucked but those did ok.

Never grew leeks and I don't think I've ever had leeks. How do you use them fresh? cooked? no idea
