The 2024 GMC Acadia is a versatile and well-equipped SUV that offers a blend of power, practicality, and off-road capability.
Powertrain and Performance:
Every Acadia is powered by a 328-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four engine, delivering 326 pound-feet of torque. This powerplant pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional on most trims, while the AT4 trim comes standard with it. While the turbocharged four-cylinder provides adequate punch, it doesn't offer the responsiveness one might expect given its power output.
Chassis and Handling:
The Acadia's chassis is based on the same platform as the new Chevy Traverse. It delivers sure-footed handling for its size, offering a comfortable and composed ride on paved roads. However, the suspension could be firmer in certain driving situations.
Starting at $43,995, the Elevation boasts the same powerful engine and standard all-wheel drive as its higher-end siblings. It also comes equipped with 18-inch wheels, a power rear liftgate, wireless charging, and heated front seats. A panoramic sunroof is available for those who desire a touch of added luxury.
Acceleration and Fuel Economy:
The 2024 Acadia is estimated to accelerate from 0-60 mph in between 6.5 and 6.7 seconds. Official fuel economy ratings have yet to be released. However, given its turbocharged engine and eight-speed transmission, the Acadia is expected to offer respectable fuel efficiency.
Interior and Convenience:
The Acadia's interior has undergone a significant improvement over the previous model. GMC has utilized higher-quality materials and enhanced technology. The larger size provides additional storage space and improved passenger comfort. Standard seating accommodates seven, with a three-across bench in the third row and captain's chairs in the second.
Infotainment and Technology:
Every Acadia comes with an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster and a large vertically oriented 15.0-inch infotainment touchscreen. The infotainment system utilizes Google built-in software and supports voice activation. A 12-speaker Bose stereo system is standard, while an optional 16-speaker theater system provides exceptional audio quality.
But the Acadia doesn't stop there. It also boasts impressive fuel efficiency. EPA ratings for the Acadia range from 19 to 20 mpg city, 24 to 27 mpg highway, and 21 to 23 mpg combined, depending on the powertrain and trim level chosen. This impressive fuel economy allows you to enjoy your travels without breaking the bank at the pump.
