2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax DIESEL Cold Start 6.6L (Freezing Temps)

Update to my original video. She started right up after a jump start. The best thing to do in the cold is to make sure nothing is plugged in (accessories, radars, things that stay in when truck is off), and also make sure to ONLY start the truck from the start button inside. No remote start, no starting from MyGMC app.
I am still going to test and charge my batteries, but I am confident that with a good charged battery, the truck will start without needing to be plugged in etc.

Gosh those 6.6 duramaxs are good but I like the older models

To engage plugs, hold brake, then push ignition once. Don’t let off brake. It will start after a handful of seconds. I believe colder and longer it’s sat, longer it will wait to start cranking over. The wait in between you pressing the button and it finally cranking is the plugs warming it up enough to start cranking. Just don’t take foot off brake until it’s started.

Don’t know if you do, but if you have the high idle option installed you can engage that on a cold morning to help warm her up when started
