At this point I think it's kind of clear that Oppenheimer will sweep a bunch of categories. There are still for sure some categories that are in contention with each other between two films or actors in this case. Animated will be interesting to see how Heron and Spider-verse compete. I think Heron could upset but we'll have to see.

Personally, I loved the Boy and the Heron. So, I'm glad it won Best Animated Film instead of going the popular route like Spider-verse. Also, I do feel kinda bad for Jo Koy. I ain't gonna fault him too much. Definitely shouldn't have blamed the writers but still, he was chosen last minute within 8 days to prepare. And a lot of people kept saying how intimidating it was to be in that room last night. So, I'll let it slide. Other than the unfunny jokes, surprisingly a lot of great wins all throughout the night in my opinion. Let's go Poor Things!

I was real happy with how the Golden Globes came out last night. While I do agree Jo Koy wasn't giving his best stuff last night, I won't entirely fault him for it since he was only given 8 days to prepare as host, while others in the past would have been given 2 months in advance. Plus, he seemed like he was having such a great time and I can't get mad at that! Plus, some of his jokes landed better than Jerrod's were supposed to the previous year. But that's just me.

I think GG did a better job picking the best in each category. Increasing from under 100 to over 300 helped reduced outliers and votes just for star power. Congrats to BP winners Oppenheimer/Nolan/RDJ/Cillian and Poor Things/Emma. Also glad to see some love for The Holdovers.

I was genuinely surprised that Anatomy of a Fall took screenplay over Past Lives. I thought this is slam dunk Past Lives actually given its nominations and no-wins in all those categories. Screenplay would be the most realistic.

I was rooting for Danielle Brooks to win for Best Supporting Actress because she was able to be so funny yet tragic. I'm extremely happy that Da'Vine Joy Randolph won though, she was amazing in The Holdovers. Pretty much everyone that I wanted to win did receive an award, so I'm happy

I feel bad for Jokoy. I like his standup but he was pretty much setup to fail. Hired last minute and Hollywood isn’t really his target audience. Now everyone especially Swifties want to crap on him. Let’s be real, not ANYONE would do a better job hosting. It’s probably a lot harder than we think… Anyways, the Golden Globes pretty much went as predicted except for a few surprises.
