Orrrrrr...if all motorists of 4-wheelers would just realize that, no matter your vehicle, you can still accelerate far faster than a truck...so just speed up, go around, and stay far FAR away from all trucks! You can go zero to sixty in less than 10 seconds...it could very well take us up to a minute to get to sixty. And remember...they built the highways and interstate system for the military and trucks; not to provide you a way to get to work. Stay off our highways!

Something else. A monstrous amount of torque measured in the range of several thousand. They aren't build like a racecar with a full rigid chassis. Instead they have frame rails going up either side with cross members so it all looks like a ladder. Which is why it is called a ladder frame. It allows the frame to flex without issue. Even when the Ford is twisting the front end of the ground, it doesn't harm it.

Technically, yes, an auto could do it. Modern automatic truck transmissions are physically built the same as a manual. Same casings, shafts, gears, etc. The just have electronic controls to do the shifting for you. But, they aren't set up for this kind of use at all.

now thats my idea of big rig racing actually doing what they are intended to do, in a matter of skill getting it going, and for speed, not just running a big souped up engine in a straight line, these are made for hauling, also putting them under a good load makes the turbos scream like a jet engine, cant quite be the best on the engine but its what they are made to do and as long as accounted for even on the street trucks that deliver stuff down the highway I am sure they are fine, diesel though smellier then gas or alcohol is heavier built, though I did think it was crazy seeing the racing rigs at salem speedway in indiana on video, those get some speed , and that track is one of the highest banked around aside talledega and winchester being equal or higher
