Dark’s use of zerg tech and weaknesses, it’s beautiful. Surgical. I have been starving for some really good counter punches from zergs (other than Serral) that weren’t just mass units and take economy

Im actually frightful for terran players. Terran does not have many tools to dismantle enemies like Zerg. Terran only have raw dps, you can do a push, a turtle build and some harassment and thats it. If more Zerg player can be masterful tactical like Serral and Dark then Zerg domination will begin once again.

@@teddanville6996 I actually think that these are very matchable, but the terran needs to tech up to ghosts early or somehow push the zerg in during the transition to higher tech. Seeing what we did from Maru, i’m guessing that Dark transitions to higher tech at the same time that Maru transitions to mass expansions. Normally Zerg can’t attack in during this because his pressure is so stellar and defense is so strong, so the vipers/infestors dismantle the pressure and give an easy way to deal with siege tanks

​@@teddanville6996not true. All 3 races have a lot of tools if not symmetrical. If you play on the ladder, you get a lot of ideas that work for every race. It's just that for these gods, they make it look easy when they obliterate their opponents. Maru is a monster and he looked weak in this series. That's because Dark is another monster, not because Terran is weaker than Zerg.

I haven't watched starcraft in years but I randomly thought about it and searched. Makes me so happy to see GSL still being produced with Tastosis just like the old days. SC2 and GSL gave me so much joy in my early twenties ;)

That game 2 was absolutely brilliant. Dark barely holds from way behind, realizes he has to hit the planetary in the corner, but can't move out cuz he will get countered. Calmly solves it by creating an even bigger threat with the nydus in the main, pins Marus army to defend so he can hit the corner base without fear of getting counter attacked himself. That is some serious chess players tactics, overload and remove the defender, play on the side of the board you are strongest. And he uses the superior mobility of the nydus to defend on the opposite side of the map as well, like bishops dominates vs knights in the end game with play on both sides of the board. Goddamn that was good.

Maru - 8 GSL wins , remember that. No foreigner has ever won a GSL Code S. Not even a finals showing. Although 1 or 2 foreigners is now very strong. They only play against players like Showtime for the most part. All the best SC2 players are still (and always has been) in Code S.

It would have been a 7 games series if Maru didn’t throw game 2 where he had 6 bases to Dark 4 bases. Kinda kill the exciment for me when someone throw so hard 😅
