In 2024 I saw the most growth I've ever had in a year, and it was all because of the products I used, the regimen I developed, my consistency with it, as well as the care and guidance from my stylist. I'm really looking forward to even better results in 2025 and I'm also planning to test at least one other line to see what else my hair likes.
@bahaqueen136 күн бұрын
2024 was a big year for my hair. First, I completed a 3 year journey of growing out the color and embracing my mixed grey hair. And yes, coloring your hair is eventually a dead end street like perms with breakage and progressive thinning. Look around at older women and you will see. I focused this year on scalp health. Scalp massages should be high on everybody’s list. I too am allergic to oil on my scalp and I have tried them all. I make a rosemary tea, freeze it in an ice tray, and melt one cube for each week. It is so refreshing! Now I am seeing a little hair garden growing on my scalp. My last tip is to use a boars bristle toothbrush to get into small areas. It is perfect for small areas if you wear braids or twists and does not create too much frizz. Good luck in 2025 everyone!

Yessss … I’d love to see you in a cane row or braids or twist style by African hair God! You don’t need extensions so it will be beautiful 🤩 . I totally agree with moisturizing the hair absolutely. But this first starts with a moisturizing shampoo, and not necessarily sulfate free either, a moisturizing deep conditioner and a nice lovely moisturizing leave in. it's also about finding what works for your hair type too, which is so important and is a lesson I have now learned and put into practice after YEARS of struggle.

I do not put oil on my scalp anymore. I realize that oils do not moisturize the hair or scalp. Oils hold in the moisture and prevent drying. I first hydrate my hair and scalp with fortified water and then seal in that hydration with oils.

I also only use tools on washday...and i only use a tool ONCE on washday. Like you, i realized i was using mine more than once, which is too much. So i use fingers all thru my washday, then a tool during conditioning so it's detangled for styling.
@caraabbott472512 сағат бұрын
2024 Lessons 1. Moisture- Chebe allowed more moisture retention, less tangling, faster wash day and detangling, and more length retention 2. Trims- Is a necessity for hair health. Trims every 3 months. 3. Stretching hair- less single strand knots and tangles. Reduction of detangling. Rev-air used on cool setting has also contributed to stretching 4. Braids vs Twists- Goal was to see which one held more moisture. Braids won. Also less tangles and more defined braid out. But she preders twists 😏 4. No detangling tools- Wanted to stop excessive use of tools. Detangling sessions are longer but the benefits are better 5. Scalp Oil- Mielle oil tore her scalp up (allergic to sweet almond oil). Stopped use of any scalp oil and her scalp was fine. May use one on wash day next year. 6. Consistency- IT IS KEY. She kept her hair consistently moisturized and she found results
@NewJohariClassic3 күн бұрын
I also found out this year that keeping my hair stretched has reduced the amount of single strand knots AND cut down on detangling time! I've been skipping tools in between retwisting or rebraiding for years and only detangle prior to installation and after taking down the protective style after a few weeks. I still struggle with keeping a consistent routine and I think that's why I've hit a length plateau.

I love wearing box braids as a low maintenance style, but one of my goals next year is to wear my natural hair out more. I really want to try the chebe out. I’m going to adopt your stretched jumbo twist regimen again (it’s worked for me in the past) using the Camille rose chebe shampoo and deep conditioner, my favorite kinky curly curling custard, and the chebe grease. And I’m asking for a revair for Christmas 😂. Hopefully I get it. But if not then the good ole tension method will work. See y’all in 2025 🎉

Great vid! I tried Batana oil on my scalp & hair. I use oil on my hair less & less...my scalp just doesn't seem to need it much anymore. I whole heartedly agree about only using detangling tools on wash day. I pretty much wear my hair in plaits under my hijab, so when I take them out on wash day, I use the fine & fragile Tangle Teezer to release shed hair, wash + deep condition in sections with chunky twists, leave my hair in a tshirt until it's about 70% dry, and then blowdry with light tension. Then I add a light leave-in, a little grease on the lengths to seal, and rebraid. I've only just started this recently after coming out of locs, but it's been a dream so far as the plaits/braids really do help to decrease knots and the shed-hair slips out easily when it comes time to brush. I've also moved away from oiling my scalp (except for wash-day treatments) and have turned to the Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA scalp serum from The Ordinary. It's lovely for scalp hydration ❤

My hair goals for 2025 is to make sure that my internal health is in good order because I might be having thyroid issues and that can cause hair issues, so as soon as I can get my thyroid issues fixed I can grow out my hair to thicker and longer lengths. Also length retention is a key component to having longer hair and I have been noticing a lot of hair breakage as well as not having any growth at all. With both problems going on at the same time. I’m trying to maintain what I already have on my head, but it is definitely a goal to see a specialist for the thyroid issues and other health issues related to hair growth and health in general.
