This is pretty much my dream bike (one of these days). Beyond the pipes, my additional modifications will be: S&S 475 cam kit, a dyno tune with high end tuner-box, a tractor type main seat on chrome springs, a comfy rear seat pad, a low sissy bar from HD, different bars to fit my body. I wiould remove that ugly cowl and set up a big removable, transparent windshield.

Just get a Softail Standard for that lame ass build. Don't ruin a LRS with that boomer type shit.
@Zulutime4412 күн бұрын
@@Schleberger - "Boomer-type shit" is just what the doctor ordered for this old fogey. Customized motorcycles naturally reflect the owner's vision, which usually draws from one's youthful experiences. In my case, that's So Cal moto culture of the 1960s.

Alex, just another thing to remember about buying a Harley Davidson right now is that with the recent news of manufacturing of certain models in Thailand, I have seen a lot of Harley owners up in arms and stating that they won't buy any new bikes. Some have cancelled their orders, which is a bit of an over the top reaction to this news, whilst others are considering selling their bikes and buying Indian instead. So the question is, will we see a price crash in the coming months - years? Is it worth buying new? Or simply wait it out?
@MHeadroom2 ай бұрын
I think you’re right. In the Australian market the last of the American built and assembled models were 2021 softails. 2022 models and beyond all assembled in Thailand. I have a 2021 model assembled in York Pennsylvania (VIN code confirms assembly plant). Spoke to a guy the other day at a roadside who had a 2023 Fat Boy and his jaw dropped when he realised his bike was assembled in Thailand.

Hey man, how tall are you? Was it comfortable with mid controls or would it be better to switch to forward controls? And also, what helmet do you use it looks sick :D. Thanks! Good video!!
@BikeMattersАй бұрын
Hello! I'm 6 foot 3, and I was perfectly comfortable happy with the mid controls, personally prefer them to feet-forward. Helmet is a Ruroc Atlas 4 in carbon - they get a bit of stick but I love it. Cheers mate!

@@BikeMatters Thanks man! I'm thinking about getting one of these, well since I'm almost the same height I'm little bit limited what bike can I get :D. It would be the quintessential HD classic, had it been made with a tank-mounted analog display. Too much black out for my liking.
@BikeMatters2 ай бұрын
Yes, a tank-mounted analogue monitor would have captured that old HD vibe. The blackout look isn't for everyone; sometimes less is more when it comes to capturing classic style!

£24k? That's a lot of money just because you're buying a Harley Davidson. There's a lot of other bikes on my wishlist that cost either the same or less. I'd take the Ducati Diavel V4 over this any day
@BikeMatters2 ай бұрын
Totally get where you're coming from. £24k is a lot, and you're paying for the Harley name too. The Ducati Diavel V4 is an awesome option with great performance, definitely hard to argue against that!

At £20K+, it's a moot point.

for 24,000 pounds I would say that this bike is a poor value. Bike itself is great, just not at that price. Considering what else you could get for 24K, it doesn't compare favorably unless you have some special need to buy a Harley

HD have added abs just because they wouldn’t be able to sell any bike in Europe otherwise. But you still only have a single disk up front. Tech wise you pay a hell of a lot for an 00’s Japanese cruiser basically. You don’t get any tech on HD’s because they are trying to maximise their profits. They could just have given us the Bronx. And that bike would have been their most sold bike the around the globe. 🌍
@metalmystic62142 ай бұрын
The FXLRS has twin disk brakes in front. They also have traction control along with the usual ABS.

That is a good point about the tech and pricing. ABS is essential for Europe, but the single disk and lack of features feel dated for the price.

@BikeMatters2 ай бұрын
True, 600 lbs isn't crazy for a cruiser, but for some riders, especially those new to heavier bikes, it can still feel like a lot. It all depends on what you’re used to!

I went from a Triumph Speed Twin to a low rider s and yes it’s heavy compared to European bikes. It’s only light for a Harley.

It puts you in a Squatty Potty riding position and that engine is weaker than the Victory 106. No, just no.
@BikeMatters2 ай бұрын
Interesting take! The riding position definitely isn't for everyone, but a lot of riders appreciate the ergonomics for long trips. As for the engine, while it might not have the brute force of the Victory 106, it's designed for a different kind of ride-more smooth cruising than raw power. But hey, every bike has its strengths depending on what you’re looking for!
