Should I get this bike at all because I don't want the St I just want the lowrider s with the bikini fairing is it worth it is it worth the money I don't think it's worth the money but I really like the bike and the quality of the build or is that just a good paint job and is that why Indian chief dark horses don't look as good unless they're painted black and gray

Actually one of my favorite parts of this bike is the simplicity in the controls and fairing. I really love the cockpit of this motorcycle, I think it’s one of the most attractive looking cockpits out today with the small gauges in the handlebar clamp, the air openings in the fairing, and the single headlight. I am not even into Harley’s, and I find the low rider ST very cool.

Going to disagree somewhat. I don't need an iPad but I can't stand that tiny gauge. It looks like the same one from the Street Bob I test rode and I couldn't hardly see a damn thing on it a lot of times. The least they could have done was add the gauge from the standard LRS, but it would have been much better if they'd added the TFT from the Sportster S.

I love technology, but these small digital displays just don’t cut it. I agree with you, give me two gauges. A quick glance and I see what I need. With the digital dash, I have to look longer to see what I need to see. Things happen fast on two wheels, I don’t need to slow that process down. HD does need to do a better job with tech. Nice bike though.

I think muscle cruiser is a more fitting term for this bike. The V-rod or a Rocket 3 would probably be more appropriate than comparing it to K bikes and such. At that price point the Rocket 3 is serious competition and it's absolutely gorgeous but it all boils down to use case. On a cross country trip I agree there are few nicer things to be on than a good Hog.

I bought the Low Rider S a few months ago and absolutely love it. My first Harley, and now I know why folks love them. It just hits different, know what I mean. the 117 is buttery smooth and massive power. Wonder how you would compare the S to the ST. I'm not a huge fan of the whole faring thing, and with what's on the S, it LOOKS more like a classic muscle cruiser, but thats just personal opinion and aesthetics. Good to see you back on a Harley. I honestly would never have given them a second glance if it weren't for you.

Honestly I think HD sorely whiffed when they discontinued the Sport Glide. It had the forward controls and the proper telemetry display, but only had the 107. If they would've stuffed that 117 in that bike, it would be the perfect bike for the soft tail sporty touring class. I have the 2021 Sport Glide and I completely love that machine! I have put over 6000 miles on mine in less than a year & a half!!! I ride it any chance I can make an excuse to. It is very confidence inspiring going into corners. My only complaint with it would be the sound, but that is getting fixed with a stage 1 kit this spring. I also upgraded the windscreen (or lack thereof) and added a mustache highway bar (highly recommend). Great review Spite!!!

The whole street bike industry makes bikes that are far too heavy. Harley has them hold its beer.

They should have put the Low Rider S instrument cluster in place of that slim little gauge thingy. And you are 100% correct, that bike is not worth an additional $5-7K (let's not BS anyone, no dealership is selling this at MSRP) over the Low Rider S. I actually think the Low Rider S is at a VERY good price and likely would have bought one, if the dealer hadn't been trying to jack the interest rate up to 24%! Gotta agree. I'm sure it's more expensive in 2024, and then next year, .etc, but $22k ($24k+ OTD) for a fairing and bags on a Softail? Not a chance. Seems like the LR S is the better buy if you wanted that bike, but regardless, there's no way that bike makes sense at that price. Also, shocked a 32" inseam looked that crammed. That's awful. The engine is never going to make up for the fact it's a weird riding position for you, nor is it going to make you think there's any value whatsoever at that price point. Then again, HD isn't about value, is it?

I would probably call it day and get an Indian Chief Sport but I need to take the Low Rider ST for a test ride to know for sure.

Spite, noticed you’re wearing the same jacket I have for warmer months. Never liked how the elbows felt, did you change out the pads?

Coming from the Super Sport side, the first I noticed was the handling on the low rider. I mean It handles good for 20 degrees of lean after that it seems like it's a fight to keep it at a deeper lean angle. VS My Honda CBR 1000RR, which dives into turns and is effortless to keep it at a deep lean angle. Allot has to do with the weight distribution, tires, precision engineered balance and of course Horse Power. My CBR is I believe is 496 LBS wet with stock 135 HP that is a huge power to weight ratio, equivalent to a 1300 HP car approx. Having said that, I did not buy my Harley expecting it to perform as my super sport in no way how shape or form, I bought my Harley for comfort, style and a lifestyle change. I'm 55 I don't care about riding with my jacket on fire anymore, however I did keep my CBR just in case I got an urge to rip up the road again.

At 6ft 255lbs and 60years....The Bike isnt setup right for me....I would have to do what HolyShift did to his...And after paying 22k....It isnt cost effective....But....Getting a LRS...Then i could see putting foward controls...LeatherPro Bags and a Memphis shades fairing....After paying $17,500...

This bike is incredible. I want one. They ride so nice and the power delivery from the 117 is just incredible. You might not be the fastest at the top end, but you’ll roast just about anything stoplight to stoplight

What a pretentous thumbnail, "Is it worth the price?" Who are you to determine the set MSRP of the greatest Manufacturer of American Motorcycles for 120 years... And of a new model that has sold every unit made with a waiting list so long, the end is nowhere in sight?! Obviously Its worth the cost, or nobody would be riding them. And, they're everywhere. You compare it to "Normal" motorcycles... I think you ought to stay on the porch and yap at the big dogs who get what they like and like what they know and have no desire to criticize a successful design that doesn't fit the small minded box of ignorance . You just don't get it. Harley's offer a STOCK platform that Individuals taylor to reflect THEIR personna. This is 2023, $22,000 to start with, and another $6 - $8K to perfect to fit. THAT"S WHAT IT COST. If I can't afford to purchase the bike I like, That's MY problem not THEIRS. Budget yourself into responsible accountability . Work Harder, Save More, Make it Happen. Your lack of appreciation is simply Your Response Ability to the limits of Your comprehending the concept. And, what makes you an authorized critic to begin with? This is the first time I've ever seen you in my 40+ years of being around the block.

Took out the RG ST 117 and after riding the 114 RG S and the ST was worlds quicker… the only DOWN side to the RG ST is the goofy snorkel on the right side… I am 6’3” with a 33.5 inseam. Don’t like the fairing on the Low Rider ST it looks CHEAP.

Do yourself a favor and stretch those mouse ball saddle bags into a real low rider saddle bag that scraps the ground when turning. That thing is the typical Harley High Boy with its cute fanny pack wanna be saddle bags. Sorry, but when you come from the true custom world all stock things look quite silly. Forge On!!!

Despite the price, I think they move alot of units, it’s just enough sport just enough touring without being too much of either. I’m not certain future HD buyers are all looking too much into road or street glides too much, imho

For 22k I rather get the gorgeous BMW R1800! Now you can find them 18k or less.I like the HD but dont like the over-pricing specially what you get.Other then the plastic fairing and the engine seems everything else is budget bin parts.

I have been riding Harley for 60 years and have had to build seats for them all. Other than a police Harley most of their bikes are uncontrollable as they come from the factory. The factory sets up the bikes to look good and low for folks too small to actually own these bikes. But nevermind, right? To sell "the LOOK" of their Softail chopper thing, Harley puts your butt right on the floor and then expects you to reach up to the bars somehow and steer the thing. Ridiculous. Have you looked at the factory bagger race bikes? Harley admitted the seats are all wrong on what they sell the public by putting a correct seat on the race machines. That seat is almost an entire foot up in the air with mid controls and is where it should be. It would never sell, Not cool looking. But it works right. Look at the original models of their machines to see where the seat SHOULD go. For marketing purposes the factory does not make their bikes properly any longer. How stupid can you get? I just finished a new seat to go racing on my Deuce. It is shocking how much better a Harley feels when you can steer it properly! I would make seats for a living but the minute I solve the problem some big company will steal my ideas. A good looking seat in the right place? Ha!

I was hoping it'd be more of a. Bar hopper. Slash. Touring bike. No radio. I don't like it. Too much money? Think I would rather just have the street bob. And get the bugs in my teeth. And bungee cord a backpack to my Sissy bar. When I decided to ride across the country. And bar hop and look cool. when I cruise in the city.

The quick answer: it’s not worth the price. At this point no Harley is worth the price unless you’re willing to drop a loan on ab underperforming piece of shiny junk, or if you work a high-paying job. And I’m a Harley guy, by the way. Abandon the corporate BS and you’ll see an ocean of greed. HD will stroke you off with the soft touch of nostalgia while violating your wallet with the cold fingers of corporate greed.

Nah, it's more crap from Harley, so I'll stick with my Triumphs. Ask them to make a really good handling, performant, tech-forward sport touring bike for $22k and they just can't get there from here.

I don't get it... Harley already HAD a sport touring bike in the Sport Glide. They should have given the SG the new fairing and left the Low Rider what it was, which was a cruiser. HD shot themselves in the foot. Again.

For 22k that should have full stereo, mmi with free sat nav, rider modes, fully adjustable front and rear suspension, heated grips, and adjustable power windscreen. As standard this is a $22,000 $15,000 motorcycle and the HD name isn't worth $7,000.

The only thing I don't like about Harley Davidson is that you spend over $20 grand out the dealer and you still have to put $5-10k on it aftermarket to get it the way you actually want the bike to come from factory for $20k... lol that's about it
@altortugas5979

The answer is : nothing. Nothing makes that bike special. It’s a remake of a 40 year old bike with slightly components and a slightly better engine. It’s the same BS business model of selling heritage and nostalgia without really giving the consumer anything new or better.
