2024 has been the worst year of my life (yet I am still here)

Honestly dude, your videos have been a highlight of my year. You’re like engrained in my memory of the silent hill 2 remake and you are a part of that roll out for me. I also relate heavy with your pet passing. My cat that I had for years passed away from bladder cancer and he was the best cat ever and went out in a painful way. Thank you for making this video.

It sounds like you've had a really challenging year. But it also sounds like you're showing great resiliency as you move forward. Managing to complete your schooling in addition to other life commitments is evidence of that resilience. I hope your Mom has been recovering from her stroke and I'm terribly sorry to hear about you dog passing. I consider relationships with pets to be just as important as my human relationships. My cat just turned 13 years old. She's starting to show the odd sign of slowing down, but otherwise appears to be in good health. I'm already preparing for when her health takes a turn. I need to get her enrolled with a new vet well before that. Do you have any plans to get another dog or pet yet? I love dogs too, but cats are very easy to look after by comparison. They won't give you love all the time, but when they do, it's well worth it; even their company is worth it. Keep going as best you can, dude. Also, it was disappointing to learn that SH2 got snubbed at the game awards after not even being nominated for game of the year. I'm glad Astro Bot won, but SH2 definitely deserved the nomination. I've been meaning to watch your video for why you believe it deserved it as well. I'll be watching that soon. I appreciate your content and can tell your love for the game/story is genuine. There's really nothing else like in the gaming world, especially when it comes to discussing taboo and stigmatized topics. It's amazing to think that the original SH2 came out like a good decade before mental health was being openly discussed. It's a game that was both ahead of it's time and remains alone in it's field when it comes to how compelling and immersive it is. I completed the Remake 4 times to get 4 different endings. I've since moved on to playing TLOU2 for the 2nd time, but first time of ps5. I'll be slowly going back to the remake to collect those last 4 endings and to get the platinum, but I really want to stretch those playthroughs out so I still have unknowns to look forward to. Fingers crossed Bloober gets the nod for making the rest of the original 4 titles. Take care man!

Also dude, I wanted to share that 2024 has been a tough year for me as well. Despite having lots of positive moments, I've had some significant struggles too. The highlights of my 2024 have easily been the SH2 Remake and discovering the artist, Ren, back in July. He's become my favourite musical artist since that time. I highly recommend checking out Ren if you like conscious, talented rap. He also plays instruments and has many non-rap songs that are just as amazing. For example, he has a couple of trilogy song stories such as Money Game Part 1, 2, 3. His other trilogy called "The Tale of Jenny and Screech....and Violet" is simply amazing. Watch the full 13 minute video which contains all 3 songs. The character Violet has some clear parallels with Angela from SH2. The trilogy can be lyrically graphic at times, but it's justified. I can't recommend this guy enough.

Hey brother, I appreciate this video a lot and im very sorry about your doggy and what happened to your mom. Im glad she is okay. Takes strength and courage to talk about these things but you’d be surprised, I lost my dog as well this year back 8 months ago. It was probably the worst thing that’s happened to me recently. I am in the military so I was only home for a couple months before she passed. I was overseas for 22 months. That’s 22 months I couldn’t be with her and I always beat myself up and feel guilty. My worst year was last year including this year. It kept getting worse. I had a water leak in the drive way, ceiling leak, rats in the house all while I was away and my wife had to witness my dog having a seizure for the first time. She passed from a brain tumor. We could only manage it but paying for chemo was not an option. But what counts is we are still here and still standing. Proud of you bro! Gods looking out for you for sure. Im glad you find solace in KZbin. But really happy to hear about your personal life bro. You aren’t alone ❤

Thank you so much for this comment. You’ve been supporting me since day 1 and I really appreciate that from the bottom of my heart. I finally finished college and it took me 4 years to get an associates degree in electrical engineering. Those 4 years were hell man, couldn’t go socialize as much or even spend time with my family. I know school is important and all but family is first. In my head I always thought, they will always be there when I’m done. And it fucking sucks that my dog was waiting for me to finish and he passed away before I could really spend time with him. So I really feel for you and what happened to your pet. 2025 is gonna be a better year for both of us, I promise ❤️
