i am planning to buy this model FL5. Can you recommended a good dealer to buy from and how much should i pay buying new. So many are asking 7k markups over MSRP

I’ve owned 2 FK8s and they certainly do not feel uncontrollable around corners. Quite the opposite, I can take corners double or triple the posted limit and it feels confidence inspiring and completely planted. That’s what this car is all about, its track handling capabilities. It’s also not all over the place in a straight line at 6k rpms. The torque steer is non existent like it is in other FWD cars. Dude you need some new tires or something. I’m coming from every RWD sports car you can think of and it handles better than most of those. It doesn’t feel weird being FWD, that’s in your head dude. It makes max torque at like 2500 rpms, mine doesn’t have a sudden power burst at 5k rpms. It pulls super hard down low and remains constant until redline. This car doesn’t have the old school VTEC from the 1990s. It only has exhaust cam VTEC. The old Hondas had intake and exhaust cam VTEC. I think you came into this review with a preconceived notion about Hondas because almost everything you said is the exact opposite of how the car actually is lol.

This was entirely my first impression based on the driving feel and experience. It absolutely corners very well as mentioned, but 100% it felt a lot crazier in a straight line acceleration than a RWD car. Not everytime, but sometimes it was a battle with keeping the car straight. This one had Pilot Sports 4s and 600 miles on the car so it was new. I'm not saying this is bad, it's just a very different feeling from a RWD car.

The mark up on these is crazy lol, still a great car though 🤩

It’s changing because there are a good amount of new and used ones out there for sale.

It would be interesting for you to try driving a eighth or 9th gen Civic SI so you could get the experience of torque steer and have a much more enjoyable engine note in a front wheel drive car that you can drive hard. As fast as the Type R is, the torque steer on the SIs are much worse because they don't have that steering knuckle or whatever it is that's aligned the same way.

I have an 06 Si and I agree. She drives amazing even after all these years. She's never leaving my hands god forbid

Question for all the Honda guys or people considering this. Why not get a Mk7 or Mk8 GTI? Most trims have big ventilated brakes and a LSD stock. The stock turbo can make 330 bhp and 370 ft/lbs at the crank with a flash tune and a downpipe. It is available with a manual and DSG transmission that are both very capable. Upgrading the rear sway bar can make the cars extremely neutral. Upgrading the turbo to a Golf R turbo can produce about 400hp/400 flt lbs at the crank and moves the power band up top, it's also relatively inexpensive. These two generations are very reliable too (outside maybe first model year for each gen). Why spend extra money on this? It's pretty but a lot of $$$

Felt good smoking one of these with a punk teenager driving it. Smoked him with a 13 year old Audi S4 that cost $12k lol

Not sure if you can get these for MSRP yet. For MSRP I would definitely get one. For anything over. No way sorry the car is barely worth MSRP 46k. Anything more you're silly if you paid 5 or 10 k markup.

I bought it for MSRP.

Better be your dreamcar for 60-70k definitely not worth it
@Felonies_Required3 ай бұрын
the car is definitely worth its price if it was RWD the front wheel drive has a few flaws like drift and when you floor a car the front rises a bit and wheel looses traction

Honda sells them below msrp. It’s the greedy dealer and boneheads willing to pay $75k

Yeah, every dealer is different. I was able to snag one for 44.5k but this was a middle of nowhere dealership and not your typical city area dealership (Kansas).

$46k brand new? BRUH 😂. I bought a fully loaded Genesis g70 with the 3.3T motor used with only 4,000 miles for $46k.... This car is wayyyy overpriced. I think at most this car should cost $40k... After taxes and stuff at $46k it becomes $50k... That is luxury performance car price range, something this car is not
@Levamentum3 ай бұрын
You're forgetting about the dealership markup of roughly 15k in most places. That car isn't going off a lot less than 60k.

As much as I personally want a G70 Infiniti I also need a reliable daily driver and most of the research I've done doesn't have a lot of good to say for reliability
