Spec'd out 16-inch Ryzen 7 Envy went on sale today on HP's website for $999 down from $1299. Will be that price all week. I have noticed their laptops/desktops usually will go on sale for a week, go back to the regular price for two or three weeks, and then go back on sale again for a week. That seems to be the pattern for HP. Also, I have last year's Ryzen 7 Envy with Oled and I love it but I am considering getting this year's because of the 16:10 aspect ratio, the better screen resolution, and the variable refresh rate. Great job with this video.

Just heads up if you din’t pull trigger on it already. Check out x360 hinge problem. They have high failure rate of hinges. Mine broke one month after 2 year warranty, got it repaired and after 3/4 of year second hinge failed.

@@_T.C.G_ Hmm. Good to know but they lost my trust in them anyway beacuse of it. Its not like for example Lenovo have no problems with it (was researching for replacemet), they had some failures as well. So if i were to get new one i would not go for 360° hinges (just to be safe). Even though the ability to pose it and touch screen is really nice in some situations.

The envy 14 seems to be very good bang for the buck. Could you please make detailed fan noise comparison with Spectre at their diffferent performance profiles (Silent, Balanced, Performance) - and if the smallest fan spinning is inaudible or if you can hear constant on-off swichting of the fans (that annoyed me on an Hp pro book in the past...).

I'm using the X360 with Ryzen 7 5800u from 2 years ago, excellent laptop but 16GB feels abit sluggish when I'm multi-tasking. Now in 2024 and it's still with 16GB RAM, feels abit dated? 😂

I have an older Envy 13. The only thing i don't like are the small up and down cursor keys and the F keys which are set to be secondary. Its a mess to press F5 or alt+F4.

You can always change the Function Key action in the BIOS settings on nearly every HP model released in last decade or so. There will be a settings named "Action Key Mode" in the BIOS.

The annoying thing about some of those HP laptops is when they only have two speakers that point down towards the table. So the speakers can sound muffled if it's in your lap or if you are holding it.

Without a dGPU they should all have a dual fan heatsink so they can raise that TDP up to compensate. So much wasted space on the 16 as well.

Can you test the thermals on old ish ASUS laptop? Most of their laptops over a year old (from the date of manufacture) start experiencing very bad thermal issues and it’s unfixable.I was gonna buy a zenbook but then my friend told me he was hit by that issue and had to return his laptop after a year, the zenbook was everything I wanted in a laptop, but now the only good laptop Im looking at is an acre swift go 14, thr envy would be a good choice if it comes to my country too

more powerful i use it to dj music its a power house and didnt over heat one bit not even warm i had it on from 12 30 pm and the show was ay 4 pm and the end of night luke cold it did get hot at all ........we ended the dj music at 11 25 pm this is the one to get

The HP Envy x360 14 has horrible speakers. I have multiple envy 16's and they sound fine, but the 14 is to hard to hear in a lot of situations. There is no volume unless you go over 100%...
