Great review! Does the 2024 Tucson PHEV Ultimate have a heated windsheild like the Kia Sportage PHEEV SX?
@edsgarage00110 ай бұрын
No, but it does have the means to remote start the vehicle with front defrost turned on (as well as with the rear deFrost, mirror defrost, heated seats and heated steering wheel all turned on as well)
@leightanwishart223810 ай бұрын
@@edsgarage001 That will have to do. I have that now on my 2017 Equinox and it works well, a heated W/S would clear that much faster.

Does the PHEV self charge? Does it always require to be charged by plugging it in? Thank you
@edsgarage0013 ай бұрын
It'll self charge, but only enough for the hybrid system. To do more would just be inefficient. So for the EV driving range, you need to plug it in. L

Noticed ours has a sound when in reverse, is there a way to turn that off? Also is there an adapter to charge with a supercharger?
@edsgarage00111 ай бұрын
No, that sound is legally required, so that blind pedestrians can hear you. The Tucson PHEV charges at a maximum of Level 2 (7.2kw) You can't use super chargers, or DC fast chargers. But you can use public level 2 stations, which are abundant or even Tesla destination charges with an adapter. You can get the level two Tesla adapter here (be sure to save 15% with discount code EDSGARAGE) a2zevshop.com/collections/charging-adapters/products/a2z-stellar-plug

I got mine 2025 tucson phev ultimate 2 weeks ago. Facing 2 problems : 1. Significant wind noise over 90 kmph speed. No leak in the seal though. 2. On highway, it uses +9L/100. Vwru less fuel efficient. Any help appreciated.

Get the wind noise checked at the dealer. For the fuel efficiency, you'll need to wait a few months to see better efficiency

Is it advisable to buy this PHEV limited edition? Also, does it come with spare tire ? Thanks.
@edsgarage0012 ай бұрын
Honestly, it's an awesome vehicle compared to its competition. But the 2025 version is better albeit more expensive. No spare, but you could fit one in there under the trunk floor if you're creative.
@suryak6572 ай бұрын
@edsgarage001 got it. But I heard it doesn't come with a spare tire, how can we manage then ?
@edsgarage0012 ай бұрын
Well it does come with a tire pump and sealant spray. Which is honestly far easier to use than a spare tire. Plus, it has 5 years of free roadside assistance. Or you buy a spare tire from the dealership.
@suryak6572 ай бұрын
@edsgarage001 understood. Thank you for your prompt replies. It happened to my wife a couple of times when she was driving (flat tire), and having spare really helped. If a mobility kit does not help or we are far from the tire shop, it's a bummer. I still feel having spare tire, which really makes sense, IMHO. So if i buy a spare tire, can we make it fit into trunk space ? Thanks again.
@edsgarage0012 ай бұрын
I'm guessing you missed the part of my first response.... Yes you can fit a spare tire under the floor of the trunk

what is the real range of this car when it has smaller gasoline tank ? like 500km? On highways, assuming the battery is full loaded ?
@edsgarage0017 ай бұрын
More like 750+ km
@MrMutak7 ай бұрын
What? On highways where after 60km there is no power in the battery and 42 liter gasolune tank?
@edsgarage0017 ай бұрын
Well I suppose it'll depend on how you drive... Maybe 700+ is the more conservative estimate
@MrMutak7 ай бұрын
120-130, where from what I heard it consumes like 8-9liters, meaning the tank will be for like 500km? Plus 60 from the electric motors, but maybe its not calculated like that
@edsgarage0017 ай бұрын
The rated economy is 6.6l/100km when on gasoline. Which would work out to 636 km. Plus the 50km of EV range. So I guess technically it's 686km. But I've had several clients report that they're getting over 700 km total on road trips, so I assumed the ratings were conservative. I could be wrong 🤷

Can i have this one? Lol. From PEI here and they told me they just "get what they get allocated" and we literally want the PHEV in white! We tested the regular hybrid ultimate but with the govt incentives and our regular commute bring 10km each way, it's cheaper overall to get the PHEV!

32 miles range... my 14 year old chevy volt with 120k miles is currently getting me 45 miles of ev range on the hwy and only cost me 7k. not to mention with 20$/mo insurance, it will pay for itself after owning it for 2-3 years from gas alone. i bet this car would have devalued the same amount by then. i am wondering why people think they will save any money with a new PHEV... its not saving any money once you factor in opportunity costs
@edsgarage0019 ай бұрын
The average daily commute is within 30 miles. That's why Hyundai didn't bother putting in a larger battery that would cost more and increase weight and fuel consumption. It might not be right for you.... But it's just right for the average commuter.
@UhhhhhnooOOo00oO6 ай бұрын
You are also driving a Chevy Volt. I would never buy either one of these. We all know the best model is the Rav4 Prime, but it's the most expensive. That launched 5 years ago and nothing has improved upon it. The Hyundai is decent, but I'd only lease it. I wouldn't want to own a Hyundai for more than 3 years. You also realize, that the gasoline engine kicks in after 32 miles. Oh no, having to use 1 gallon of gasoline. What will the human animal psyche do? Rhetorical. We dump millions of gallons into the oceans for higher military contracts and that 10 miles of EV is going to save you economically and proportional pollution. You shouldn't own an SUV in the first place or have ultra-consumerism. I'm sure you have flat screen TVs and multiple devices, ie: Tablets and "Smart" phones. Cut down on one and that's yiur savings. It's all about money and nit efficiency.

I'm not going to drive every single model Hyundai makes, especially considering I drove the 2022 model during that review when it came out, and how it drives hasn't changed. Besides, how I feel about the drive isn't relevant as my thoughts would be subjective. So if you like how it looks, and you like the features it comes with, that you now know about thanks to my VERY COMPREHENSIVE BLOODY REVIEW, then get off your butt and go test drive it.
