Hey, you know how we were very sure the next iPad Pro was getting an M3 chipset? Well scrap that because now we have leaks coming out of nowhere that we could see M4, yes I repeat M4, in this new bloody iPad. What is going on? I think, Saran, that Apple may plan to release the Pro with M4 in order to dedicate the M3 family to the Air, especially if they (I mean Apple) are serious enough to produce a 12+-inch size Air. Just a POV.

It’s something they’ve done in the past and with everything that has been going on since Covid kind of threw a wrench and everything but it’s coming back to where they’re able to do what they’ve done in the past with separating not just chip families now with M series… But consumer level offerings in spring, someone who buys a MacBook Air may not buy an iPad Air/Pro or may not buy an all in one iMac and/or a Mac studio Remember that exists, hence unlikely to interfere or poach sales, stagger the chips, stagger the products stagger your potential customers …year round…then pro level trims and keep Dub Dub focused on software and/or “developer kits“ now likely visionOS tvOS and Vision lineup and keep September for iPhones and Watches and entry level iPads have a pro level MacBooks oct/nov, (plus Mac Pro) in time for holidays.

The Ipad Pro really needs something big to make people interested again so M4 and OLED seems possible. Maybe the 11" will get mini LED. It's going to be interesting to see.

I don’t see them using Mini-LED on the 11” and OLED on the bigger size, it seems they want feature parity between the iPad models now. But yes they’re going all out with these models to get people to upgrade.

The issue with Apple sales is being too prolific with product releases. New devices each year (with exception to the iPhone) floods the market. There is no need for customers to update iPads and MacBooks each year. An every other year release of products consistently would be a better strategy. The new iPads may sell better than the 2022 release because it has been nearly two years since a product release. The 11th Gen iPad could be renamed iPad SE. The iPad mini could be released every other year in conjunction with the iPhone.

Tbh I’m fine with the yearly upgrades because I think a majority of Apple’s customer base only upgrades every 3-4 years, so when they are ready to upgrade, having something that was just released with the best possible specs would be nice. But you make a fair point about the iPad range, the lack of updates as of late will undoubtedly boost sales for these iPads. iPad mini getting an update every few years is fine since the chip is really the only thing that will be changing, and I think keeping the base iPad as just the “iPad” is perfectly fine.

Mark my words. APPLE WILL NOT PUT M4 IN THE NEW IPAD PRO. It is far too early for it to be released given M3 has only been around 6 months and typically refresh cycle for M-series chips is 18 months, but also why would they put it an iPad first, there least powerful M-series products. It makes much more sense to put it in their Macs first which are much more powerful and it would be much more beneficial to Pros.

Yea they’re not giving an m4 like I will admit it is too early we have to wait for m3 ultra like that still has not released yet and also I think the iPad Air tings m3 because it makes no sense why it wouldn’t because they skipped the iMac with m2 and went straight from the m1 right to the m3 and plus Apple likes to surprise us so the rumors might be false about the iPad Air getting m2.

I’ve guessed they intended annual cycles, but everything has seen snag after snag, this is a chance to catch up and maybe even get ahead of schedule that everything is ironed out logistically as well as natural tech advancements, I feel even if we do get M4 next week, we’re STILL behind, unless another leap forward and M5 comes at the end of this year at earliest and hopefully spring by next year at latest MAYBE DubDub ‘25. Rinse and repeat. OR, keep the year and naming aligned, ‘24 M4, ‘25 M5, at least for base chips, they can stagger release and milk it for Pro/Max/Ultras, though I hope not. Release the latest best possible I’m amped !

They're doing the same now w the IP & Mac mini to market M4 AI asap without cannibalising their MBA MBP sales - which they will update to M4 later this year & early next year - when AI software updates are more developed. No M5 this year. Mid 25 - late 2025.

Few inaccuracies to correct in this vid. M4 is the biggest boost since the M1. Also, with iPad sales 📉 It makes complete sense to debut the M4 with the Oled iPad AND AI WWDC

Ofc comparing it to M1 it will seem like a big upgrade, but I was comparing it to M3 in the video, and it definitely won’t be a huge year over year improvement in terms of CPU and GPU performance. As for iPad sales, yes I also cite that as a reason too in the video.

@@SaranByte I’m comparing it as the biggest jump in performance from its predecessor (M3) since the jump to M1 - based on A18 benchmark leaks. M4 is the true custom 3 nanometer chipset. M3 was just the M2 on 3 nanometer

@@trevorjonathan4405I guess we’ll see but I’m gonna temper my expectations either way. At the end of the day Intel to M1 was a monumental jump and so living up to that would be difficult. I’m still happy using an M1 MBA without any issues.

@@SaranByte The M3 was rushed for Apple to market 3 nanometer ahead of the competition. I plan to use the M4 IP as a duel screen with the M1 MBA. Then likely upgrade to the M4 MBA on release . Hoping they start at 16GB ram 🤞
