Wanna know how I know it’s mostly a different platform? Crash test. Take a look at challenger , charger , 300 Durango , and last gen grand Cherokee videos on IIHS and you’ll see every car that hasn’t been SIGNIFICANTLY updated has its pillars folding on the small overlap crash test … from the dart all the way up to the tonale, they are IIHS top safety pick+ … each test gets harder and harder and with each new model on this “old platform” they pass with a plus rating … proving this platform has been redone time and time again. They never had intention of getting the replacement but constantly tell me that compare to the Jeep that they owned, they don't have to worry about putting in gas in the cars as much, haven't had the need to bring it into the shop for warranty repairs, and was driving a more quiet and faster vehicle. There was total regret in getting that Jeep and wished they held onto the older CR-V. Thankfully, the new engine and transmission was standard in 2023 model year. I traded in my GTI for a 2023 Jeep Compass Limited. Heated seats, steering wheel, nice infotainment with the large screen, leather all around. It is quiet, wicked comfortable seats, power driver, good cargo space for me, I didn't want a giant SUV. Gas mileage pretty good. As a Toyota loyalist, I couldn't bring myself to get the Rav4 (horrible seats), and yes, for I received a 15% discount bringing the Compass down to under $32k. Cons. Hate the on/off feature. While the GTI was seamless, this one is impossible to move without a little surge. I turn it off, a lot. There is a drone between 35 and 50, it varies. Not sure I want to know why. For what it is, I like it. I do miss the super fast steering of the GTI, which made corners a 3 inch turn. I have a new set of Blizzaks on for the snow, and looking forward to our snow, already falling. Best part, my old bones appreciate the much easier driver access, I no longer get beached at because of my Horrible, noisy GTI, and I love the granite color. The Corolla Cross didn't do it for me, neither the engine nor the cheaper interior. Right before this, I returned my CX-50 tester and was glad to be out of it. Between the extra 9 grand (comparably equipped), and the punishing ride, I just left the Mazda dealer in tears. Apparently he read the C&D review and thought the Mazda was super perfect. I really wanted the Rav4 to be the one, but their option list gets pricey, and my woman could not stand the NON POWER passenger seat. Truth is, neither could I.

SavageGeese videos are a true marvel of cinematic chaos! Dr. Goose is a maestro, orchestrating a symphony of automotive absurdity, where the laws of logic are mere suggestions, and coherence is an alien concept. The seamless blend of erratic camera angles, a kaleidoscope of jarring jump cuts, and a soundtrack that can only be described as avant-garde noise pollution - it's pure genius, or maybe a hallucinogenic experience disguised as automotive commentary. Forget about coherent narratives or structured critiques; SavageGeese has transcended the mundane expectations of logical discourse. These videos are a fantastical journey into the realm of automotive psychedelia, where cars aren't just machines but gateways to alternate dimensions of confusion. Who needs clarity when you can have a fantasmagoria of sight and sound that leaves you questioning not just the cars, but the very fabric of reality? So, thank you SavageGeese for creating a masterpiece that defies reason, a chaotic ballet of automotive bewilderment that challenges the very essence of what we thought automotive video reviews should be. Bravo! BTW, Good Luck, Carissa, with the Ultima.

Thank you for the underbody shots. We can clearly see that his product has no rust protection where rear suspension arm plates are bolted to. Or anywhere where the car will actually rust. Behind those plates - prime rust spot, no protection. These will be driven especially in locations with with snow, and therefore salt. Since the underbody is so bare, it should not take much to add some proper undercoat, but then again the people who buy this are not aware of such concepts as rust protection, longevity and a decently made vehicle, therefore the manufacturer has no incentive to add the undercoating. Lease it, dump it. But it is not just protection, the noise is also lowered with it, which is mostly the reason a manufacturer nowadays applies the gunk to the underbody. It will also improve the reselling quality in the long term when people start learning that the car will last and you will get more of your money back when it is time to sell. But for people who pay attention to rust protection in a used car, those will likely be not looking for a Jeep product. At least not a compass.

I really hope Jeep goes out of business, it’s such a joke of a company. Stellantis is declining bad too. 180+ days of inventory at dealerships. They run only on Jeep and Ram sales. Once they’re gone, Stellantis is gone. Stellantis in the US is smaller than they really are.

I remember my dad got one of these as a loaner when his car was getting worked on. It had a bigger engine then my car but it felt completely sluggish.😊

I was stuck with one I rented for a day during a fly fishing/camping trip when my 2005 Ford Explorer blew a brake line on my way to Walmart. Can you say POS? I know you can. At least it only takes a screwdriver and switching a fuse one position to make the 12 volt outlets stay live with the key off so that my portable refrigerator could stay powered up overnight. I was wondering what the motor noise was cursing through the campground at 5 MPH. Stellantis is proud of the reviews from both people who like this so called Jeep.

Fun Fact: It is also manufactured in India and exported from here. Here, it's priced above what it should have been and there's bigger and (maybe) better options available at that price point and again, you get most of this car for like 40% less price of it (if you let go of the four-wheel drive system) then you aren't losing much at all. It is a slow seller here.

We had one as a loaner while our 4 year old Jeep was in for bubbly paint repairs. Rattles in the cabin, front collision system not functional when it rains and infotainment randomly disconnecting and reconnecting to our phones..

That's actually not a multilink rear suspension, it's mcpherson strut of the same style as the legendary 1993-2007 Subaru Impreza

This was entertaining to warch. There must be something wrong with me. Im middle-aged and live in a rural area and I love my compass latitude! Its drives and handles well and its very comfortable on ling trips, the backseat area is roomy enough for friends and cargo is decent. I use it to commute to work and for leisure. Its fast enough for my needs and I have a fairly heavy foot. The AWD is great the 4WD is a bonus. I agree the new price tag with options is ridiculous but I purchased mine used with low miles. I cant complain.
