@OtisFlint 2 weeks ago (edited) The fact that they're still doing the close ratio 5 speed MX box, tiny fuel tank, no handguards, no skid plate, no dedicated mapping, etc in 2024 is astonishing. The only reason you buy the Kawi is the $3k discount at year end. I have Kawis, Yamahas, and Austrian bikes. The only reason to buy green is price and nostalgia, because i grew up on KXs. You'd be nuts to pay retail for one of these given the other options on the market.

All the Japanese 'x' models are a bit of a slap to the face with close ratio gearboxes etc. But kudos to kawasaki for being the only company moving towards rideability when all other oem's are making their bikes stiff as hell.

Awesome machine. So glad Kawi is committed to off-road. My 2015 kx450f converted to off-road is a lumbering tank compared to the way this looks like it handles.

I hope they put a 6th gear in that bike in the next couple of years. Out in the desert it would really bring it up to another level.
