This is one of those bikes that is just for everyone. It has a great look, nice engine and it is also comfortable for taller riders.

Sports bikes (crotch rockets) - Go play on the road. Cool for tight turns, wheelies, high speeds, etc. Do so in short spurts, you're body is going to pay for it. The longer the ride, the more uncomfortable it's going to be. Be considerate if you have a passenger. If after 1 hour your butt goes numb, your passenger went numb 30 minutes ago. Cruisers - enjoy the ride. Throttle therapy. Clear your head, glide around the road like an ice skater. Just enjoy the magic of the road. 650 - your butt will go number after a couple of hours. 900 - bout 3 hours. 1100 and up, make a day of it. You aren't running on the razor's edge of the road with a cruisers. You are becoming one with the road and enjoying the zen of it. Heavy Touring Cruisers - it's a way of life. You spend as little time in a cage (normal vehicle) as possible because you really can't stand them. You adapt and learn how to ride in all weather conditions. (as long as you aren't an elitists prick) You give the wave to anyone on 2 or 3 wheels because you love seeing fellow riders on the road, aka family. (this even includes mopeds and bicycles as they are potential future motorcycle owners).

Great analysis. I am a motorist but hardly use the car, cyclist life long, long distance Audax and touring, did End to End back in year 2000, there are cyclist then there are young teenagers riding any old how doing wheelies etc, they are in law cyclist as well and we are then broad brushed....but really. Then I have my Triumph Speedmaster and I do around 6000 mls a year biking. You have a good attitude, wish more were like you. When biking through busy areas I am watching out what is going on all the time, people do make mistakes but some love to put it on line from the dashcam without a thought that people are human.

I own a 2023 Vulcan S and let me say that as my first brand new motorcycle it has been a great experience overall, this cruiser is really nice it may not have high end tech but for the price its a great value. Good enough to have nice pulls here and there and highway speeds is great overall. I usually commute to work and back home about 40 minute round trip and no issues maintaining low 80s mph/ 128kph. I am 5 feet 1 inches or 1.54 meters height wise and i'm able to balance the bike well while at a light waiting. Some upgrades i did were the mirrors stock mirrors are great but too bulky and also exhaust was upgraded as well to a Delkevic and sounds 100x better. I would say this a great starter bike not too overpowered easy enough to learn.

As a happy owner of a '21 Vulcan S I'm glad to see some love and respect from an objective review. I've had my share of sneering comments from traditional cruiser riders and that's all well and good I guess. While it may not have the "character" of a traditional V-twin the KVS runs practical, reliable, and lotsa fun on the road without breaking the bank on purchase price and maintenance.

I have a Triumph Speedmaster, I wouldnt sneer at anyones bike no matter what they ride. These are just rude ignorant people not everyone can afford or justify teens of thousands or more. I like the Vulcan S and was considering it a few years ago, I bet I could have saved a few grand and would have enjoyed riding it just as much. You dont have to spend fortunes to enjoy biking, and generally I only bimble about on the Speedy 55-65 in general anyway. Odd ocasion I have shot up to 80 or just over on overtakes for about 2 seconds then shut off to the speed limits. No wish to kill myself or anyone else.

I had a Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Single Thumper! After 40,000 km. Two years! Chronic Wry Neck (Stiff Neck) No more Royal Enfield. I cancelled my RE Super Meteor 650. Those nasty vibrations, something ROYAL ENFIELD is known for! Therefore I purchased a Japanese KAWASAKI VULCAN 650 No regrets! Greetings from sunny tropical THAILAND

My only gripe about this bike is that it sounds like a small 250 sport bike or a scooter. Wish they could have made it sound like a real cruiser and not a moped. Bike looks great other wise. And yes I know it has a sport bike engine but still come on.

I have a 2017 Vulcan S and actually I love it. But sometimes that bike is too ordinary for me. I love cruising around and I love it that the Vulcan S can corner. But every time I see a Harley or an Indian I wanna change the bike. BUT they're expensive in Germany. I don't wanna complain about the Vulcan S. The problem is just in my head :D

Question..... When you buy a new bike... they say there is a break - in period on the first 1000 KM's. why in all the videos I have watched to learn about the bikes, everyone takes the rev's way above the "break-in" levels of 4-6 thousand? Is the break-in part just bull-shit??
@taylortorres37696 ай бұрын
No it’s not BS. Everyone just rides their bike differently
@DanielRRomani2 ай бұрын
I've heard a theory that, for a proper break in, you're supposed to kane it. Allegedly the gentle break-in is more to cover the dealer's ass. They can't tell you to go thrash a bike you've never ridden before, and not expect to get sued if something goes wrong.

It isn’t the standard exhaust system - it is the mod.
@ZXspectrum..8 ай бұрын
Unbeatable for 7k, the bike can look really good with mods especially a puig batwing. It's a bike you can thrash without losing your licence. The new Indian scout is more than twice the price and only just a tiny bit quicker.
@mithrandirthegrey76448 ай бұрын
Top speed is not really a good comparison. The Indian scout bobber has over 100 HP and 83 ft-lbs of torque.
@ZXspectrum..8 ай бұрын
@mithrandirthegrey7644 I'm not talking top speed...the Indian does 0-60 in 3.8 the vulcan 4.2. The Indian does 0-100 in 13.2 the vulcan 14. No noticeable difference and the vulcan is lighter and easier to throw around, plus more reliable with 4 years warranty. The Indian looks better but not worth twice the price...you could get a vulcan and another bike.

I have this bike, brilliant little machine. The Cafe screen looks gorgeous but I had to take it off, the booming and buffeting on my helmet felt like a rave because of it to the point that less than an hour on the highway at 110 kph had my ears ringing slightly even with ear plugs, now the air flow is clean and infinetly quieter. Get a K&N high flow air filter in there and the engine vibrations will smooth out quite a bit at low RPMs
@ZXspectrum..8 ай бұрын
Interesting so the filter makes a noticeable difference? If you want a good looking front end instead of the cafe screen I recommend the puig batwing with a wind deflector from amazon mounted on to that..looks good 👍

Simply for the riding position. Lower to the ground, feet forward. Cruiser ergos, yet sporty performance. I have a Ninja 650R and Versys 650 at my 2nd home. I'd like to add a custom Vulcan S into one of my garages.

Way to much power for beginners and thee throttle is was to touchy for beginners. Riding for over 55 years and ridden lots of brands. This is no beginners bike in any since.
