Got the '19 in the military green color. Never road before, it's my first bike and I learned on it. Just do occasional rides in the country. Only things I did was adjust the spring down 2 notches to soften it up; put on some Grip Puppies and a radiator guard. It's user friendly to change the oil and maintain the chain. It'll most likely be my only bike, I'm almost 60 (late bloomer) and I see no reason for anything else.

Most riders don't need more then 70ish horsepower, and that's usually where the street-use 650 class motorcycles come in around. The Vulcan is kind of a swiss-army knife! I'll be 58 in December and bought this bike in the cafe style. I love this thing. It's as fast as I need it to go, as comfortable as I need it to be and not bad on the eyes either. Unlike a few folks I've seen comments from in the community, I could give a rats a$$ about judgement and comparisons with other riders. I'd like for my exhaust to be louder, but it's not a game changer for me.

I own a 2023 Goldwing a 2024 Africa Twin ES Adventure and one of these. A 2024 Vulcan s 650. I ride the vulcan more than the other two put together. It's so much fun now I have it run in. Get it bubbling around 7 to 8 thousand RPM out on the back quiet roads and its a total blast. Handles very well and loads of power in the band. It's a great all rounder.

You're right the exhaust note is under-whelming but the wonderful intake sound makes up for that. For an almost five hundred lb. mid weight cruiser it balances well and is confidence inspiring at low speeds as well as on the highway. The ergo-fit makes it an almost perfect fit for most riders (I'm 5' 5" 28" inseam 125 lbs) The engine has surprisingly decent roll on torque from low to mid rpm in almost any gear. It can be ridden sedately or wrung out with equal ease. Love your video's Omni Moto, keep up the good content.

While the sound isn't the best in the industry, that shouldn't stop someone completely from looking at one and considering it! I have a little Ruckus, and the reasons I'm looking for something else are: 1. Sound (mine sounds really loud because the original owner destroyed the threads on the exhaust mounting points, so I had to get a third party exhaust that only uses the one mounting point and it sounds very loud and terrible. 2. My acceleration is very slow and it makes a lot of drivers very impatient, which makes me feel like I'm in danger. I really like how quiet this bike sounds in this video, so I'll be looking into getting one.

I have the 2015 Vulcan S 650 in bright green, I bought it brand new in 2015 and put 11k miles on it. I still love it and have had zero issues with it. I've done a couple trips from Las Vegas to Oatman, AZ, and to Death Valley and Pahrump, but primarily ride around Vegas or to nearby saloons. It's really perfect for what I use it for and still love hoe it looks :)

i have watcehd like 20 videos on this bike and never understood what a positivie neutral finder is... I recently passed my driving courses and exam and (because the bike wasnt in great technical condition...training bike) i thought it was ether just me or that bike when i couldnt hit the neutral 50% of the time. i am so glad you explained it and that this bike has that. I kind of wonder what year they started implementing the positive neutral finder, cause i am considering buying a used one thats a few years old and as a noob this would be a welcome feature

I've got a Arrow Rebel exhaust on it. It's Europe street legal and sounds amazing even with db-killer still in. Make sure to get the Rebel version of the Arrow exhaust, riding buddy of mine has the normal one and it sounds a bit less. Furthermore amazing bike. I'm still young (25) so I love this hybrid sport/cruiser. It's nimble, comfortable, looks great (I got the lava orange '18), great for packing / passenger and unique.

It’s a great bike, I have been riding for about 12 years. My grandfather bought me my first bike when I was 13. I usual ride a buell xb 9/12 or a shadow 750. I wrecked my sfv650 last year and replaced it with a green Vulcan 650s. It’s a very odd bike, if you want a traditional cruiser this isn’t it. It feels like its own thing. It’s super fun to ride but the lack of torque takes some getting used to . Especially compared to the buells I’m used to. I like riding it almost as much as I enjoy looking at it . 🥰

I have one of these and really like it - its pretty nimble and easy to ride with all the power I need. My only complaint is the mirrors which are not good - they need to be extended out about another 3/4 of an inch so I can see the rode instead of half of my forearm, but its a great buy for the price

This could absolutely work as your first bike, but you'll need to prepare yourself properly with some sort of hands-on training like an MSF (motorcycle safety foundations) or BRC (Basic rider course) to ensure you understand the basic principles of operating a 2-wheeled machine. Kawasaki rates this motorcycle as being "New rider friendly" on their website though, and I concur with that! All the best. Ride safe!

Definitely. Just take it easy at first and don’t open the throttle all the way. Do your parking lot practice before getting on the roadways to get familiar with brakes/clutch/lean angle, and when you’re comfortable with the bike take it out and hit the road. Rubber side down! Thanks for watching.

I enjoyed the test. Did you find the throttle a little "snappy"? I have a 2021 model and its a little jerky. I totally agree about the flat plane crank not being 270 deg. after owning a MT07...and after I fitted an after market exhaust the bike just purred!

The issue my fiancé and I had, aside from the exhaust, is that standing it up initially was a bit difficult. It is a bit bulky in that regard, however it does give you a tach, something a Rebel doesn't give until the 1100, and that ergo fit system is badass if I'm honest. If set up right, I could ride it, my fiancé does not like the forward controls at all on it. We both felt we were reaching a bit far, however the one we sat on was just a default set up the dealership had out to just show it off... knowing it could be made to better fit almost everyone is so incredible. My biggest complaint is the fact that it is almost impossible to change the exhaust note on it without either a saw or a full system... that it where I feel they missed the biggest mark on making the bike your own with the Vulcan S. It's almost out of our consideration list for a first bike... the only reason I keep it on mine, without saying it is, is the fact that the features it has are incredible. I just wish the exhaust was better/easier to customize and that it didn't feel like a behemoth trying to stand up in the showroom... other than that, you can't deny the bike is a great value for the money. What are the alternatives for this bike? Also rougly in this price range, as the indian scout is much more expensive.I didn't see anything else in this shape, for me it looks great and I consider buying one.the rebel 500 is way too small, at this price range I can only see the classic naked (bandit, mt07 /Europe I mean). Would it be a good fit for someone 1.84 cm?, it looks kinda low ride, a bit too low for my taste. As for the noise the less the better imo

There really aren't many other options that fill this role as well as the Vulcan 650. You could opt for a Shadow 750, but you're not getting as much bike in terms of performance and the price is $1K more. If low isn't your thing, I'd say you should look at the sport-heritage motorcycles like the Z650RS or XSR700 as they have taller seat heights and they have more upright ergo. You can also talk to your Kawasaki dealership about the ergo-fit center for the Vulcan 650 S as well to ensure the best fitment for you. When it comes to noise, just leave the stock mufflers on and you'll be fine.

Hi! Thank you for your comment. The only reasoning I can muster is your dealership misunderstood you. Maybe it was just a lapse in communication, but I’m being optimistic. The Ergo-Fit kit section on the website is very clear in stating (www.kawasaki.com/en-us/motorcycle/vulcan/sport-cruiser/vulcan-s) Vulcan S comes with the option to have the bike adjusted/fitted for you at no additional cost with the Ergo-Fit system. Here’s a screenshot from the Kawasaki website highlighting it imgur.com/a/rk4frXC I work at a dealership, and I am positive we have installed numerous Ergo-Fit kits. To my knowledge, Kawasaki provides the kit to the dealership and compensates a percentage of labor for the dealership - I could be wrong about that labor part though. I’m just a dumb salesman. 👨‍💼 It is important to note that the website also specifies _After purchase_ & _at dealerships with an ergo-fit center_. Maybe they don’t have the ergo-fit center at all and just say screw it. I sincerely hope it was a miscommunication/misunderstanding or an uninformed dealership personnel you encountered. That said, I’d kindly present them with the link/screenshot I provided and ask if they have the Ergo-Fit center since they have Vulcan S in stock. If they continue to push back and deny the advertised service, I’d consider another dealership who will do it. Whoever you spoke with may have spouted an answer because they were uninformed/unaware - a better answer would have been “I’m not sure, let me confirm that for you. If we can confirm that detail are you ready to buy this Vulcan S?” rather than a blunt “NOT FREE AND PAID FOR BY CUSTOMER”. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching.

Can't agree with this enough. Yamaha has already made plenty of motorcycles that feature the CP2, and the Bolt 950 is not a crowd favorite. I think it's time to nix it and make room in the lineup for something that can compete with the fabled Vulcan S - a mid-size cruiser with a CP2 in it would be amazing to see! Thanks for watching. The torque, sound, and performance is just nuts in an application that also lends itself to shorter riders, new riders, and cruiser types that just cant swing 20k for a Harley. Yamaha could use something like the CFMoto TFT display to go from "classic" tach/speedo combo to a modern digital layout. price point of $8500 and it would sell itself.

It accelerates like the new Z500/Ninja 500 which weigh in a lot less (about 125 lbs less). It is definitely a "budget" but not CHEAP-made Cruiser that could satisfy just about anyone (OK, no Belt nor Shaft Drive), just add a windscreen for the highway (and flying objects). Kawasaki offers the most varieties in each class of bikes in the USA at this time.

lets face it if not riding on track days you dont need a slipper clutch and probably wouldnt use it much . The slipper clutch is mainly used for hard shifting gears. On the road its only going to make the clutch lever easier to operate and the clutch lever is pretty easy to operate on the Vulcan anyway.

My problem with this bike for me my own opinion by my preference.... Is this bike has a tendency to throw you off sometimes idk if it's the tire's or road or maybe the rider, the second is there's no dual front brakes so stopping can take a while and depending is you got abs or not may take a while to get used to it by learning

I’m 6’4 and it fits me great with the extended seat! It’s definitely needed. The original seat was super cramped. It sits like 4 inches from the tank compared the extended tank puts you 14 inches from the tank. Also had to put the pegs at the furthest position

I've owned motorcycles since 1967. I've owned V-Twins from Hinda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha and Harley. I am soooo tired of the V-Twin chug chug chug that I am now looking at a Vulcan S for its parallel twin and its smoothness. As far as not having luggage space or wind protection, it is a naked cruiser, buy the luggage you want and the wind protection you want. I've bought such for every cruiser I've owned except for the four Harleys I've owned and two of those cost $37,000 each.

I personally believe it's acceptable to be in neutral at a stop so long as you have proper situational awareness of what's behind you, and want to give your hand some rest so you aren't focused on bodily fatigue while riding. I think Suzuki has some great value motorcycles, but they also seem to update their motorcycles the least and release the fewest new models. They seem to be okay with that though, and their reliability is on par with the other Japanese brands. They might not bring the most to the table, but they're consistent. I'd like to see them have a larger presence in the beginner bike market segment, as it's never been more popular. It'd also be nice to see them try a little harder in the cruiser world as well. Something interesting to note that's not motorcycle related is the UTV/SXS world. Suzuki is the only Japanese OEM who is not dabbling in that industry, and last I read they have openly stated they will _not_ be entering the industry any time soon.

*Here in sunny tropical THAILAND (not Thaiwan) mid size cruisers (metric cruisers) there are: Honda Rebel 500. No Thanks, looks too WEIRD! And 500 cc does not cut it! Also Yamaha the BOLT 950 cc. Styling detail SUCKS! See that space (two fingers) between the tank and the saddle. Why? No Thanks. The SUZUKI. Yeah! Bring it on! The BIG Suzuki C50 Boulevard 800 cc. Unfortunately. No more bikes in the showrooms! And second hand “preloved” as we like to call them. High demand NO HAVE! Out of the “Four Big Japanese” Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha all built in Thailand ONLY ONE REMAINS: KAWASAKI VULCAN S 650 Cafe. I am buying one next week. OK! So you might ask why not a =RE= Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650? I’ll tell you why! I am an old dude 74 years. After four years of challenging TKR operations in Sweden and here in Thailand I started riding in 2021 after all the Orthopedic Carpentry. My first a bike a =RE= Meteor 350 cc Small Cruiser. Now I have chronic Wry neck and neuropathy (numb fingers) The fucking vibrations! Therefore enough Royal Enfield for me. Also the =RE= showrooms could have been cleaner and more organized. =RE= is still Made in India and the brand does carry the same weight as the iconic KAWASAKI. If the bike was Air-cooled.... a definite plus... That radiator has always looked like a design after-thought. uuggggh. So I decided on a Bolt, ... Air cooled, 270 degree crank,.... the Melon-cannon exhaust will put shame to any stock exhaust . If K would do do something about the rad's ugly-arse design..... then yeah, I'd totally recommend it as a starter cruiser / first bike.
