The manual lists 91 RON is required which is equal to 87 pump octane in the US. Premium fuel is definitely not recommended/required.

I like the style Kia and Hyundai have. They are comfortable rides but the problems they keep having prevent me from getting another Kia/Hyundai product. The issues with theft, another recall for fire risk on 23-24 Kia and Hyundai vehicles (you may think they resolved this years ago), transmission problems with the double clutch transmission, etc. We had a 2021 Kia Telluride that show transmission problems at 12k and have a 2020 Kia Soul that have been recalled 3 times (hopefully no more issues). It makes you think twice to buy the products from these brands (based on my experience).

My coworker has a 2021 Seltos, and the transmission failed at 15 K miles. Has been in the shop for 6 weeks already. He regrets trading his RAV 4 for this junk.

Isn't the theft issue only affect the cars that used a key? I'm pretty sure push button ones were not affected.

Great review,I will be in the market at the beginning of the year, this would be on my short list.... BUT the theft rates on Kia are so high that it would be hard to insure , the City of Chicago just filed a lawsuit against Kia/Hyundai other than that strong issue you guys sold it on this review 👌

The detail that made them easy to steal (no immobilizer) has been fixed in all Hyundai/Kia models as of 2022, however since a lot of 2021's, 2022's, and 2023's look the same, thieves are still trying to steal the newer ones with less success.

I have this suv in mars orange. I can honestly love it. I get around 35 miles to gal. Went to Ocean City MD from Charles Town Wv and back for $40. I have the style S. There is only two things I wish it had is automatic seats other than that great car..

Both engines get similar fuel economy, which is significantly below 30mpg.

PERSONAL OPINION!!!, so i live in Australia and here we are coherently given a lot of features as standard, this kia seltos is a really solid car, but again PERSONALLY id get the hyundai kona as its newer and subjectively has a better looking exterior and interior, and its fully loaded with specs like, heated seats (front and rear) ventilated seats, blind spot cameras and so much more, its also larger and a little more comfortable, but again this is my opinion, and even then the kia seltos is a really solid choice if anyone moves forwards with it.

I think wedging deserved an iguanna... Cute car. LIke the color, but it looks plain compared to Yvie's dress :-). This is a fantastic car, that is a bit like the North American version of a Golf. It's big enough for 95% of what we all use and saves money since it's not overkill. Also fairly easy on gas. As someone with a Sportage Hybrid, the $1200ish dollars that it would cost would be worth the extra 5-10 mpg over time.

Yep. My Ford Maverick AWD with the 2.0L ecoboost weighs like 500lbs more and has 55 more hp than the Seltos 1.6L turbo yet gets (EPA) 2 mpg better hwy. I've gotten like 33mpg hwy using 93 octane. Using 87 octane only drops that by about 1 mpg. That Seltos should get much better mpg.

Never fails it is always a top of the line with a turbo engine. Why don't you at times drive a base trim model. Just why not.

Good question. We get our test cars from press fleet companies. They have cars that have been ordered by the PR departments from various car companies. Those PR teams typically want to show off the nicest version of the vehicles. And so we get fancy trims. On the occasions where lower trims are available, we typically request them.

@@RRLV434 the CX-30 EV is being discontinued. The CX-3 (the model the CX-30 replaced) was discontinued. Mazda has not mentioned anything about the gas powered CX-30.

Yup! Our test car did have an HOV transponder mounted on the windshield. No, I don't believe the black dots affected it.

What? Are you stuck in 2011? Kia/hyundai were the first to attempt new EPA standards, and engine 1.0 and 2.0 had growing pains. 3.0 is best in class. Meanwhile, Chevy, Ford, Nissan, Toyota are recalling millions of vehicles this year because they are a decade behind.
