Put the Tusk rack for a 23’ on my 24’. It works, it will just rest pretty much on the rear fender as I didn’t have shims laying around. Bottom of the bolts do seem to hang lower than they would on a 23’ but they don’t come into contact with the rear tire when shock fully compressed… at least not with stock rear rubber…

Gotta leave some gap on rear break lever, right? I've over tightened and heated up the breaks and found myself stuck with a locked up rear break. Had to get the tools out and loosen it.

Bought my klx from Stiller in Kitanning 6 months ago and I’m loving it. First bike in about 15 years. Took it to mountain ridge, going to check out rock run also. Any other good spots you recommend?

Awesome! Those are the 2 best spots 4 single track. Mountain Ridge is awesome. For true dual sport riding Karthaus to Benezette area has a lot of good riding.

Try a fatty tire in the front. I use goldentyre it mobs over everything.

The bones of this bike, frame, motor and suspension is nothing new. Been the same since 1997! So its older than the drz400.

What type of glue did you use for the chain plate under the footage trick? I put IMS pegs on a used XR250R and the peg hangs down a bit, not sure if it is the peg or the foot peg mounting bracket was bent by the previous owner.

I use E6000. Goop is the same thing also.

Wonder if the gearing is different from the 250S models. I’ve settled on 14-46 gearing on my 250 and found it works perfect on the trails, still capable of 70 mph at 7800 rpm even though the bikes useless at those speeds. Way too much wind buffeting you once you’re over 60 mph on these bikes for comfort. I also cut the extended part of the upgraded snorkel that goes inside the airbox as it takes up an excessive amount of airspace inside that box. Pretty sure it starves it for air.
