McLaren is unveiling the successor to the P1 later this year (currently codenamed P18). I wouldn't be at all surprised if the release of the Technic is timed to coincide with this event.

makes sense that the 1:8 car should come June 1st, based on the previous record being that consistent. my bet is that they will unveil it monday the 20th, if it is released in June. i think a McLaren makes sense, since it lacks representation in the 1:8 scale while still being a prolific partner in other series. hope it is a Speedtail, not because i will get it since i dont collect the 1:8 scale supercars, but because it is one of the most beautiful cars made and i would love to see how it looks in Lego.

Great point. I think the speedtail would be a good candidate as well. It is a very special and beautiful machine. Anything other than those two choices and I might be a bit let down, to be honest!!

These are my two theories: #1. We probably need to wait a few more days to see the announcement of the 1:8 Technic supercar. #2. LEGO might have discontinued the LEGO Technic 1:8 supercar product line like in the case of the LEGO Technic Monster Jam pullback sets were ended in 2024 apparently. I hope my #1 theory will be the case.

It's crazy! My guess is we haven't heard anything because mclaren themselves haven't revealed their new model. Once that happens, I bet lego will reveal it very quickly. Just my guess though!

I think the 1:8 supercar will be a mclaren P18, cuz the P18 will unveil in 2024 Q4. So did the daytona sp3 got unveiled in 2022 and lego did that

So just some news for everybody, mclaren has some new cars that they are reaveling soon, so we might not be hearing anything about the lego verion because the real thing hasent been released yet.
