Great video! You mentioned you were going away from the mod snake system. Were you seeing issues with it/personal preference/or any reason?

It's more or less just trading one convenience for another. The modular snakes are great, but they do require more short cables to implement properly, are prone to the little pins getting bent, and are more expensive (one modular snake requires three separate pieces, though that is the point of being modular). Plus, the keyboard with the breakout cable has to be present to use the modular snake, even if that student is sick or out for whatever reason. The sub-snakes may take a few extra seconds for the students to plug (which can be reduced with simplifying the color coding), but they need less cables, are just as nimble as modular snakes, and don't require the inner keyboards to be present if those students have to be absent. This is a great question and would make a really great video topic.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but with the sub snakes, if someone is out sick for the day or something, it’s not a problem for the keyboards that are usually jumper cabled to the absent kid because they can just plug directly into the sub snake itself instead?

@@Fluffyness97 That is absolutely correct, though you'd need to plan ahead and ensure that the cables on the outer marimbas have enough slack to reach the ground where the snake is.
