I beg Mazda, when it comes time to either facelift refresh the Mazda 3/CX-30 or a completely new generation, please do not mess with the front fascia. It still looks so damn good and aggressive after this many years. Don't mess with what isn't broken. Don't give it a generic face like the CX-90/70. Don't dull the sharpness of the grill like they did with the most recent CX-5 refresh either...

Great review, but a few things: - The rotary dial works perfect in Android Auto, don't ever need the touch screen, it's too far anyway which was intended by Mazda since it's more distracting - Don't need a gazillion gear in a low rpm torque monster like this, feels more like an inline 6 or V6 then a V8, but so smooth and torquey, BTW a tune revives the high rpms. - Why need a panoramic sunroof, you wont even see it from the front seat and loosing rigidity and probably add weight. - You reviewers mostly get press cars, which have been abuse on the brakes, no problems on mine and feels pretty grabby.

Mostly highway, with some putzing around a New Hampshire city and then driving out to trailheads on some awesome back-roads through the mountains and lakes. And I wouldn't say I was exactly going under the speed limit. Driving only in stop-go conditions it's going to be bad, I get 21-24 around my city. But being stuck driving in a city is miserable already and not why I bought it. The bad city milage is just further incentive to get out to good roads

Even if the civic was worse than a Mitsubishi mirage it would sell more. It's not a problem of demand, it's a supply/production difference. Honda has a significantly higher capacity for production than Mazda, and aside from the CTR all Honda's and Acura's are built here in the US. The Mazda3 shares production lines with hotter vehicles like the CX-30 in MX or their other SUVs in Japan. And has to be shipped. The good news is that they don't really care about selling more than others, they just care about selling enough to be profitable, which the 3 continues to do quite well.
