I owned an NA, NB, and NC. I drove my Miata 365 days a year in New England - snow tires in the winter. I would have owned an ND, but doggone if I didn't get old. You go Andrea! Wave to my niece when she drives by in my old NC! That big happy smile on Andrea's face reminds me of many a Miata ride on a sunny day. Most smiles per mile per dollar of any car ever sold.

I 70 years old and I bought exactly the same car. I have a Porsche Turbo, a Corvette convertible and a BMW M5. This is by far the most fun. It is an excellent vehicle, gets great gas mileage and can’t be beat in the summer. It is not even too bad in traffic since the clutches light and it has a hill holder, if you want a roadster, that is a lot of fun!

I’m so happy you guys decided to keep Ruby & it’s by far my favorite color ❤️ I’ve had my ‘23 MX-5 Miata for almost a year now & it’s nearly identical to Ruby! I named mine Tony because it reminds me of Iron Man 🤭 It’s my second vehicle, only driven in nice weather ☀️🏎️💨 and always in the garage when parked. It’s absolutely a dream to drive & my first manual in a couple decades, but I immediately was right back to driving one with ease when I picked it up. It’s like riding a bike, you always maintain skills & just might have a little rust to knock off 👍🏼 I get compliments nearly every time I am out in it, which is not a goal but nice regardless. Everyone loves the color. Love you guys & your channel. Your reviews helped me decide on both Tony & my daily driver, Parker the ‘23 KIA Sportage Hybrid. Many blissful years & mileage for you two with beautiful Ruby!

Greetings from Texas, Andrea and Zack! I’m a big fan and so happy for your success. In honor of my 60th birthday, I just took delivery of a blue 2024 Club BBR soft top with the manual. It took seven long years after selling my 2016 Club (bought new, daily driver, same spec, minus Recaros) and it’s a keeper. It makes me smile every day, it’s markedly improved over the ND1, even running errands becomes an adventure, and it offers, to me, the purest driving experience at this price point. It’s easy to criticize what the Miata isn’t, but aftermarket support is extensive and I’m truly grateful that Mazda still continues to build and refine it 😊

Love this review! I have watched many on the MX-5 and this one touches on the finer points, so thank you! I have ordered this exact spec and can't wait until it arrives! Unfortunately, some part of the Recaro/Brembo/BBS package is on back order, so it's taking several months longer than normal to arrive from the factory, but it will be totally worth it when it gets here! Agree that this car makes a great second car, which this will be for me, living in the northeast US. Miata is always the answer! Thank you!!

I noticed in the video you and Andrea needed to roll the windows up manually after closing the top. Aftermarket kit is available to install inside the driver door panel that allows the windows rolling up/ or down (user settable) upon soft top opening/closing. I have it on mine (installed myself - Not a handy person). That kit also enables the remote key lock/unlock buttons to operate the windows from outside, open and close. So cool.

I have the Italian Cousin to the Mazda MX-5 ND which is my 2019 Fiat 124 Spider Lusso 6 speed manual. All the same top down fun in a Italian suit and a 1.4 Turbo. Less HP in the Fiat but more torque! Both these cars are totally amazing fun cars and I agree that they are definitely second vehicles for most of us. In the summer I can create more errands that take my Spider out of my garage than you can imagine. My wife can’t believe how much more helpful I am in running out in the Spider getting her stuff. Seriously though she also loves our Spider however rides shotgun which I don’t argue with. Mazda/Fiat really knows what they are doing. Unfortunately Fiat never really put enough effort into getting the Fiat 124 Spider onto the marketplace and 2020 was their last year. It would have been so interesting to compare a 2024 Miata and Spider. Great show. I love all the information you provide.

Great review you too. I likely would have owned a MX-5 years ago. I in fact drove one for a week twenty years ago when working as an automotive engineer. I am 6'1" and long legged...so built a bit different than Zack. I am just too cramped in a Miata because I like to stretch out a bit when I drive. I know there are people taller than me than own one and love them. If Mazda stretched the car just a bit and adjusted power to weight to match a slight growth spurt, I would have one. I love the design and simplicity. Anybody who is a true auto enthusiast loves the design purity of perhaps the greatest sportscar of all time. You hit on all the right notes when discussing this iconic car.
@ddavidson54 ай бұрын
I have always thought they were a great car ever since they first came out but at 6'3" it's just too tight for me. Most reviewers say that 6 feet tall is about the limit for this car.

Yeah, I sold my NA as I felt too cramped (6'1"), and it was a 2nd or 3rd car with the optional hardtop. We have 4 vehicles now, so no room for a 5th, but I still dream of buying an NC with the PRHT and an automatic (sick of shifting).

I'm glad you are keeping it - it's a great car! I like that Mazda has both the soft top and the RF. It's personal taste, but I prefer the RF looks over the soft top. I have a 2021 MX-5 RF GT with the manual transmission in Deep Crystal Blue Mica with white Napa leather interior which I love. My understanding is this combination was only available in '21 and now you can only get that exterior color in the Club with black interior. I think with black interior Soul Red is a better exterior color. It's my daily driver and is great as a third car. I've been able to get a medium sized check-in hard side bag in it, and for most shopping trips it works great. I have a lot of opportunities to drop the top throughout the year living in Texas.

Best cars ever. '23 RF Club owner here, daily driver for almost exactly one year, Snowflake white pearl mica (SO CLEAN). The RF is beautiful, and I get glowing comments on it every day! I took delivery and 3 days later they announced the ND3, no regrets honestly the changes aren't all *that* big. Can't wait to get weird looks from people again this winter driving topless. Anything over 40 degrees and we good. 6'1" 210lbs and I have zero issues getting in it, no different than the STs I tested, not really sure what you're getting at with that one. To the person asking about costco runs... wrong car unless you're going for gas and a hot dog! Great car for a weekend trip, we've even taken mine for a weekend of camping but that might have been pushing the limits a bit hahahahhah On customer service - when built (Clubs are order only) there was a single extra washer in the RF mechanism that actually put a dent in the roof. My local Mazda dealer I bought the car from 100% took care of it no questions asked, looked like it was never an issue, and even gave me a brand-new Mazda3 to rip around in for the entire duration of the fix. An aside - my wife got a CX-30 Turbo and we LOVE that thing too, super comfy ride, corners great for a small SUV and is quite quick too!

I drove the Mazda RF at an event here in Vancouver when this current generation came out. I'm 6'1 with long legs and i didn't find it comfortable to be in, even for 10 minutes. I think this vehicle is best suited for someone 5'0-5'8. Aside from that, great driving dynamics for the pricepoint and a good looking car. When are they going to make cheap convertibles for us tall people 🤣I truly loved this car after driving it.

Great car! I am 190 cm (roughy 6'3") and I fit in both the soft top and the RF, but it is far from comfortable. However, my main complaint is that from my seating position the A pillar eats a lot from the screen and I must recline the seat forward which brings my head way closer to the top.

The soft top definitely has a magical feel to it. Ruby & Andrea look like a perfect match. BTW I go to Costco too & my passenger seat gets the overflow. The new 2024 has a bunch of improvements that my 2016 Club soft top showed it needed. Moving the cupholder slots farther back in the center console / adding the Alexa linked to Google maps is a huge upgrade. Now I tell Alexa where to direct me & she puts it on the display - so much easier. Plus you get warnings about things in the road already happened twice. The closing of the doors have a more quality sound. My 2016 Club had 1/4 inch plastic for sun visors. I understand they were trying to remove all weight possible but the new 2024 Club soft top has padded sun visors. At 1st the Recaro seat was bothering my hips. After a few days of driving that disappeared & like the bolstering on the seats. The side mirrors with the amber alert for cars in your potential blind spot is appreciated now I'm getting older.

I'm glad you kept it! The Miata is just too good to let go. I made the mistake of selling my ND2 GT soft top and now I own a ND3 GT soft top. I love this one even more than the ND2. The ND3 updates do feel substantial to me. I'm very familiar with the previous Miata and the new steering and differential really do improve the car's driving dynamics, and the new lights and infotainment are big improvements. I too am a few months into ownership, but I still constantly make excuses to go for a drive.

This is my second Miata (first was a '96), and they have both been my second (or third) car. Especially at 50 years old, I don't think I would want to have this as the only car. Maybe in early 20's I could have lived with it. My other car is a MINI Cooper, and its currently got a bad alternator that I'm waiting to fix when I get the time and money. @levigato125 Exactly 💯. The Happier you make her the more bored she gets. Women don't want a man who's weak.I've been married for 25 years, but you better believe I stand my ground when I have to. Always make sure you're an life partner, not a simp.
