7:40 the Bose system is available in every top trim (wether it’s NA or turbo) at least in Canada. Also did they improved the "self driving" system for the 2024 update? It sounds like it the way you said it… The car was pretty comfortable according to you but is the noise loud or is it better than the average? Decibels ratings are a bit vague to me

Sound levels are subjective to the ear also. Our CX-9 is even quieter to the meter but the large cabin size and reflections and glass area make it sound louder to my ear. I am going to do a whole video devoted to interior sound levels soon. I think hatchbacks in general are a little louder due to the rear wheel/hatch area being open to the interior versus a trunk. But most cars are decently quiet these days. Even Honda has tackled their road noise in their latest vehicles. On higher trims the traffic jam assist gives you that self steering and very good stop and go cruise control. Really nice on two lane roads in traffic. I don’t care to use these systems too much. Thanks as always!

Fuel economy is acceptable to me due to the power figures and awd. Great review! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It would be nice to see the 2.5 non-turbo with Toyotas hybrid system that they’ve agreed to let Mazda use, starting in the CX-50. Would absolutely crush the fuel economy. Even the boost in the CX-90 plug in Hybrid yields decent numbers!

Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree. I am ok with the fuel economy when considering its AWD, performance, and the fact there really is no competition. Maybe the GolfR and WRX which have worse numbers. The German 2.0 turbos are really highway efficient and tend to beat EPA numbers. I do think Mazda has some tricks up there sleeve coming with the hybrids you mention. The mild 48V hybrid in a 4 cylinder version of the straight six would do very well in a new generation CX-5 and who knows, maybe a 6. Thanks again and happy motoring.

I am surprised the efficiency was that low. Maybe that special premium plus spoiler and Air dam gave too much drag, but I've got rally armor mudflaps on mine and have gotten significantly better. Granted I stick to cruise control on my long drives as much as possible and it looks like your travel lane is pretty busy. Even if I'm careful with the throttle cruise control on flat ground will beat me from an efficiency view.

Thanks for watching. Yes, its just a single data point and with all the speed variations and low average speed I would think it would do a little better on a real trip where you could average closer to 65 - 70 mph.

Thanks for watching. We owned a 2020 GLI for almost two years. There is a whole ownership series I linked below. But here is the highway mileage test. It did very well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWPQopKonNqrjM0si=QMTLzNqHnb2PNFdF kzbin.info/aero/PLO0bPSIuWSivk5Ic_9c6Pv9_MJDM52d3U&si=1NrzmqfqGhyPrjB_

Well….. I find it a gas milage champ since I went from a 2020 Mustang 5.0 manual to the Mazda 3 HB PP Turbo AWD Soul Crystal Red!

True true, for sure. And for what it is and considering apples to apples competition like the GolfR and WRX the AWD turbo 3 fuel economy is just fine. Only the German 2.0 turbos seem to really crush the EPA numbers out on the highway. Congrats on your beautiful red 3 and happy motoring.

I was ready to go back to Japanese and so the Mazda 3 HB AWD turbo was what I decided on because of it being the only Japanese's car with a real transmission . The car is fun to drive and I love it. It is great quality for the price!

I drove the 5.0 for 3 years as my daily and spent way too much on gas with it. I got tired of driving a manual and only 2 doors. I had 3 years of fun of spirting driving and am having just as much fun in the 3HB AWD turbo!

The Mazda 3 and CX-30 really need hybrid options already, ideally the 2.5L or 2.0L hybrid from Toyota making 200 HP. I would also love a Spirit Racing CX-30

While I have no inside info I suspect Mazda has something up their sleeves regarding hybrid and PHEVs options. Automakers seem to be realizing that the move to full EVs need that hybrid/PHEV step first, especially for a smaller manufacturer like Mazda. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

Hybrid sales still don't compare to popular gas models......more expensive to own....faster depreciation in used car market, harder to repair, higher insurance costs because accident damage is more expensive to fix.....watch how Camry sales go from avg of over 250k units in U.S to under 150k units for 2025 year - which is Hybrid only......

@@jm4100yet cars like the Prius are still some of the cheapest cars to maintain and hold their value extremely well. Toyota’s hybrids are some of the best on the road. Can’t speak for other companies hybrids though.

I am getting 15.9l per 100km in the city... absolutely TERRIBLE gas economy. Somewhat dissapointed. Even when I drove spiritedly with my 6 cylinder BMW i got better milage.

Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. Is it really stop and go city driving? If so I could see those low numberss. The US EPA city loop is not really stop and go city traffic but closer to a suburban loop. The 3 turbo is rated for 21mpg on that loop so I can see lower if it’s truly city stop and go.

The (WORST) infotainment system in the auto industry with the rotary dial knob that's outdated in 2024. Touchscreen needed and the blind spot on the 3 hatch is bad ain't worth 35k.......

Literally everyone who uses the knob on the day to day loves it. It’s better than the Lexus touchpad and acuras touchpad. After 3 weeks of getting used to it, it’s literally second nature and I can control everything without even looking down at all

Absolutely as wrong as you cld be.....what an ignorant statement.....last year, after having a CX-5 for a cpl weeks...I will never feel good abt having a touchscreen in a car again....the knob is right where your right hand sits and you never have to reach towards a screen and look what you are touching which can be distracting.....its so responsive......quick and easy to do exactly what you need......once you get used to it after a few days......the other commenter was right, you barely need to look at the screen to get everything done on infotainment screen....and if you hook up to Apple or Android Car play...it will turn to touchscreen for Nav operations for example so best of both worlds.

It is a touchscreen in CarPlay as of the 2024 & 2025 MY but honestly I rarely use the touchscreen function. The rotary dial is perfectly fine
