Preparing for my CCS, I am curious. What is the major difference between the ICD-10-CM for hospitals and the ICD-10-CM for physicians? Does it matter which one I buy for the exam? I am using the CM for Hospitals for my college courses, so that is what I am familiar with.

Hi Bleu, I watched your video from 2020 on the independent study schedule. I am using this video to order my books and realized I did not see the pharmacology and pathophysiology in the study schedule. Would these two books be considered optional or tied in with the Anatomy and Physiology 8 week time line?

Unless you can locate a free training program like WIOA I suggest you utilize Bleu's self-study instructions. You will be teaching yourself anyway. Online programs take your money and plop out a syllabus to read and answer questions. It is essentially the same experience doing a self-study. Grab every Optum book Bleu suggests. This approach will run you approx. $400 - $500 in totality, but its is way more cost effective than paying thousands for a program where you will teach yourself anyway. Don't believe me? Read the comments 98% would be lost without Bleu's guidance and that's coming from students formally enrolled in a program. I'm nearing certification study mode and here is where Optum books will save you in addition to following Bleu's channel.

You can study on your own and then take the CCA or CPC exams to get certified. You only need one certification you can pick CCA by AHIMA, or CPC by AAPC. Look them up both on their websites, OR go thru Bleu's videos she has a lot of explanations on how to study on your own and you will find tips and encouragement. I already finished my program through my local college in the Fresno area and it was fine. Although I wished I had find Bleu's channel before registering for the program so I could've done the self study and then take the test. If this really interests you, you have to put in the work and study and do your research and you can become a great medical coder. Amazon has most Coding books, and also get the coding handbook called ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding handbook 2023 with answers by Nelly Leon-Chisen, (I bought this one) or you can get either 2022 thru 2024 would be good for you to start studying and learning, for CPT you can get the BUCK's Step-By-Step Medical Coding (though not very well recommended by Bleu, again look up her videos, you'll find out why). wish you best of luck in this career.

If I’m planning to take the test in beginning of 2025 do I need 2024 books or 2025 books? I’m going with self study for the next few months.
