The vehicle formally known as the EQG has been launched in Europe and the gob-smacking new 2024 Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology (as it’s officially known) will arrive Down Under later this year as part of a facelifted G-Class range that also comprises an upgraded Mercedes-AMG G 63.
It won’t be cheap, but the first all-electric G-Wagen will come bristling with advanced EV technology that makes it even more capable off-road, including its crowd-pleasing G-turn, agility-boosting G-steering and astonishing Offroad Crawl functions.
The new G 580e really is a high-tech, go-anywhere electric 4x4 off-roader, as John Mahoney discovered at its global launch in France.
