2024 Mercury ProXS 4 Stroke - Easy to Break In - How To

I wanted to share how easy it is to break in the Mercury ProXS 4 Stroke Outboards. In this video I'll show you how I break in my ProXS, include screen shots of the Mercury User Manual Instructions and walk you through the steps I take. Just a couple of hours on the water, and the main break in period is over. Super simple!

Why would you say to keep it trimmed down for wide open bursts? I was told the opposite by a factory tech. He told me, Full throttle full trim but don’t let it cavitate.

I wouldn’t go against the factory. My thoughts are that it puts a greater load on the motor and keeps the RPMs down near 4500 as the manual instructs.

I don't like break-in. But my new boat is being rigged, and if they ever finish I'll have to do it. And it's cold. I may wait a month or so.

Sorry to disappoint but that motor was already tank test to its highest rpm... you can easily check total hours

No matter what rpm your in only hold that rpm no longer than 5 min for 2 hours
