2024 MG4 EV hatchback, from RM104k - AutoBuzz

MG Malaysia has launched the MG4 EV hatchback in Malaysia with 4 variants and a starting price of RM103,900. It rivals the likes of the BYD Dolphin and in its "Extended Range" guise, it could be driven for up 520km on a single charge.

The only thing is that BYD Dolphin still wins over MG4 Standard Spec and MG4 Lux in terms of distance range, technology, safety, features and spec. But for other variants, MG4 Lux Extended and also MG4 xPower is worth to buy than those Japanese cars and also Tesla which Japanese cars and Tesla can’t beat MG4 in terms of overall aspects

How did the dolphin win? The standart come with bigger power then the standart dolphin for the range its higher to for the mg4 and charging speed the mg4 lux is 150kwh while dolphin sadly only 80. Dolphin standart wltp 340km while mg4 standart 350km wltp. I think u are confuse with the nedc and wltp range. Dolphin brochure use nedc so it looks higher but in reality u need to use wltp since its closer to the daily drive that we do.

@netzcd No matter which mazda models you buy, gonna be problem as heard from many mazda owners in here have faced many problems and also expensive to replace spare parts for mazda including maintaining car

​@juck2263 i own mazda and can vouch that what you said is not true at all. Maintenance is not expensive. Parts of course not as cheap as perodua but not that expensive. Most importantly car is reliable and the handling is good. Just dont expect a 160k car to have the same parts price as a 40k car.

It does not make sense all MG4 models comes with 7 kW AC charging if MG Malaysia will provide the 11 kW wall chargers for Lux models and above.

If you think that Mazda interior and other Japanese car better than MG, I think you have to go and test MG, dont see any complains so far from everywhere. Knowing that all cars have problems but MG much better than Japanese cars including Mazda that have failed safety rating with poor quality materials
